Really brilliant place and food is exceptional. Been a few times for their coffee and cake, returned today for brunch as well. Delicious. Local produce and a really welcoming vibe!

We've visited this cafe many times. Popped in for lunch today and were lucky enough to get a table in the small dog friendly area. Great coffee and inventive dishes. I had the garlic mushrooms on sour dough, which was absolutely delicious. My husband had the hash and black which he really enjoyed. We were sadly too full for cake, but there's a great choice of yummy treats.

We visited on a Saturday in October and were lucky to get a table in this popular tea shop. The setting is idyllic-lovely walks through trees and a reservoir, a functioning historic mill, lots of outdoor seating to enjoy the setting in the warmer months. The tea shop itself is excellent. The staff are welcoming, the food is delicious and they have a surprisingly large variety of cakes on offer-about 20, all freshly made. We really enjoyed the lemon meringue cronut. They offer made to order pizzas using their own milled flour (delicious) and a range of sandwiches-we enjoyed their grilled cheese on sourdough. They also serve proper coffee! A perfect place for a spot of lunch or coffee and cake. Dogs are welcomed :)

What an amazing find! We were out for a walk and thought we'd call in for a coffee. It took us a few moments to find the entrance, but we were so glad we did. The menu was so enticing that we decided we'd have brunch, and ordered the Turkish eggs and the cheese and ham toastie. We weren't expecting much: it's only a small place and we assumed that food would be adequate but not exceptional. I'm happy to say we were completely wrong - the food was amazing, generous portions, good quality ingredients, amazing flavours. We'll definitely be going back!

Fast becoming a favourite stop off on the Trans Pennine Trail. Friendly service great food, delicious cake. The coffee has a proper coffee flavour and is the best in the Barnsley area at the moment in my opinion. The decaf is especially delicious, something a lot of coffee shops don’t pay enough attention to.

The staff were really lovely and wrapped the almond croissant up when we asked. The food was so good I had the mushroom and avocado sourdough

Great selection of cake. Nice place to sit down for a coffee and snack after a walk. It is small so you might not get in at busy times though there is a takeaway counter.

We went to grab some lunch yesterday - Sunday lunchtime. We were scared quickly at a table that was clean and tidy. Great choice on menu, interesting flavours and combinations. Also happy to follow requests too. I ordered a brie and apple pizza - absolutely delicious and very hot. All fresh ingredients. This was followed by a kronut - fantastic range of cakes all washed down with a cuppa. 😊 always good to go back because the quality of food is so good.

Nice place next to the old mill. Been here a few year's ago with Mrs T but had forgotten about it.... Pity you have to pay for the car park however I was cycling so it didn't matter to me

Really lovely surroundings, nice food, plenty of seating. Really enjoyed it. We saw a crayfish round the dam (see video) but forgot to write in on the board of what had been spotted that day....

Excellent alternative to motorway services! The cakes looked too sweet for my liking (would have killed for a cream tea but you have to order those in advance) so settled for a toasted sandwich. Good plateful with salad, crisps and fresh chunky doorstops. Yummy and filling. Followed by a visit to the working mill nextdoor and a leg-stretch around the reservoir that feeds it.
