Small for a Wetherspoons but had a lovely feel too it and had a few lovely features from Barnsley 's mining heritage. Such a pity this is ear marked to go in Tim's Wetherspoons cull!!! The staff were really friendly and I had a lovely pint in between my shopping trip, well worth a visit before it closes if your in the town.

Good wetherspoons as always, managers abit miserable though, Enjoyed today special 2.99 for chicken jalfraiz and rice, was very nice, with our all you can drink tea and coffee again Kids did well with there food, one downside was the managers abit miserable and ten tonne, she needs to loosen up abit.

Comfortable enough on a quiet, wet night in Barnsley. Quick service, great prices, especially on the food.

2020 Covid review You can check in via the NHS app at the entrance. there's hand sanitiser. if you have the Wetherspoons app you can sit on the tables to the left with a red sticker on the table. Otherwise go to the right and sit on a table with a yellow sticker and wait for table service. I went to the left, ordered on the app and got my beer pretty quickly. 2018 review The best of the two Wetherspoons pubs in Barnsley. It has more choice including two taps from Geeves local brewery which was nice to see.

Nice place, a few people in but nice and calm and quiet. Didn't order food, just a quick drink. Would go again if in the area.

Very good food, for a cheap price. Yeah there was a screaming family a few tables away but it comes with the territory. Very friendly staff, however the table was a bit sticky but again, that's to be expected. All in all- a pleasant experience.

Unfortunately they were out of pizzas and the curry I wanted. However, it had been Barnsley Live so they must have been very busy. The barman was very apologetic and I had an alternative curry that is normally available on Curry Night only. Lovely food, as usual.

Not like it used to be, was much busier, but still a nice pub, decent food and friendly staff, keep a good pint too.

Just had really nice veggie sausages and chips. The checked shirt waitress is a star! Rushed off here feet but still polite, friendly and helpful
