Went today with my sister and my 1 year old nephew, we had a mocha, iced coffee, baby hot chocolate and 2 buns, all were fab. They provided a high chair for my nephew and seemed quite child friendly, also noticed a jar of dog treats on the counter so assume it is dog friendly too. Lovely place to go for a little treat.

Great place to eat. Staff are incredibly friendly and so welcoming of our dog. She was given fresh water and biscuits (see photo) on arrival. The coffee is fantastic and the food is outstanding and great value for money. We had peanut butter on toast (see photo) and poached eggs on toast. We can definitely recommend Old George. Thank you to all the staff there.

Already a somewhat regular customer but came in, made an order and got a phone call that meant I had to leave quickly. I asked if they could prepare the food to go instead and they were extremely accommodating, sorting it quickly and providing delicious food in a short time frame. I was very impressed by their friendliness, quick service and understanding to an awkward request from the customer. Would highly recommend and look forward to going back!

You cannot fault it. Great coffee, great food! Dog friendly - they sometimes give your dog free treats. We’ve become regulars, we love it!

The owner was so friendly and had a lovely conversation with us. His fav is the loaded hashbrowns and the masala eggs which were AMAZING I will be going to Barnsley for this

Lovely food for a great and reasonable price! I had the peanut butter granola toast and was delicious, aswell as an iced coffee (and sneakily tried some of my boyfriends frozen lemonade) 😋. Will definitely be back

I came here as a solo trip for my lunch and I was very welcomed in the shop! The waiter was very friendly and was attentive when I ordered. I tried the crispy chicken bao buns and they were lovely! Although, it will get quite messy eating them so be prepared! The seasoned chips were nice and for dessert, I tried their French toast! The flavour/theme of them changes every week and when I went, it was banoffee! The bread was fluffy and airy, and the fresh banana slices and whipped cream paired nicely with the bread. On an occasion before this, I had the avocado on toast and the whole thing was great! Just the egg wasn’t runny when I cut through it. Alas, I will try it again next time!

Good coffee and the cakes are tasty too. Staff is very friendly and it’s got a good vibe when you enter. Altho at times it can get busy but worth the wait if you like good coffee.

Great cafe, the staff made me feel welcome when I walked in. The vegan breakfast was delicious, really good coffee and fast service. The price was also very reasonable. I will definitely go there again whenever I'm in Barnsley.

Excellent quality food. Hollandaise sauce didn't have that powdery quality you get in sachets, so was clearly made properly and from scratch. Bacon was thick cut and beautifully tasted. Eggs cooked but still runny. Peach iced tea lemonade was refreshing and delicious. Saw other food coming out and it all looked amazing. Wraps are huge to look at. Think a wrap is going to be my selection on my next visit. Will be happy to return.

Being a little cafe, my partner and i arrived here for opening time on Saturday morning ( was already filling up) We both had the old george breakfast, with americano. I don't understand people complaining about the price. You get what you pay for, we wanted a quality breakfast with quality ingredients, and that's what we got. It was delicious! So much taste, not greasy and full of oil like usual cheap breakfasts. If you want a nice breakfast, this is the place. Cant wait to go back!

I was told to come here by a friend. I'm glad I did. Such a charming building with a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. It's kind of like a tardis...looks tiny from outside but it goes back a long way and there is seating upstairs. The pictures I added are from the upstairs area. The staff were very friendly and the service was swift. Very nicely decorated and ambient music playing. I can see this been a regular spot for me as I live in Barnsley. The only negative for me personally was that the black americano was a little weak for my taste. If you like a strong coffee I definitely recommend ordering an extra shot of espresso. But my mother who is known for speaking her mind and sending her drinks back...had a mocha and she said it was one of the best she's had. So well done old George.
