We have been coming to the Barnet Green Dragon for many years and we never had any disappointment. We usually go for its special 2 courses lunch menu on Saturday.
What we love the most about The Green Dragon is its food quality & its food presentation as it always make us feel like eating in a posh restaurant, but with a pub's price tag. The food is always delicious and we don't think we can find anywhere that can serve more value for money food than here, in Barnet, or maybe across the whole London.
Service is always great too. All staffs are friendly and service is always attentive.

Incredible place for a Sunday roast!! I’ve been doing driving lessons around Barnet and we have gone past several times so we booked a table.
The staff were really lovely and attentive without being overbearing. We all had the roast beef which was delicious and cooked perfectly. I love when it’s a single thick and juicy slice.
We ended with sticky toffee pudding and a hot drink.
Think this will be our frequent haunt for Sunday roasts now!

We had lunch here today. Very good value. I thoroughly enjoyed my fillet of pork on a skewer, very tasty. The rest of the party had fish and chips and said it was very good.
The service was good and attentive. Unfortunately we sat next to a very noisy table, but they did leave before we had our mains. The decor was a bit dull and maybe just a few attractive and brighter pictures on the wall might help.
However, that's just a small criticism and on the whole we had a thoroughly enjoyable experience.
We were sightseeing in the area & at short notice booked a table at the Green Dragon for a late Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed. We had a lovely table outside overlooking open countryside, the staff were friendly & welcoming, the service very good. The food was delicious, one of the best Pub Sunday lunches we have had. We had the belly pork and another of our party, the beef. The quality of the meat was excellent, cooked to perfection, as were the vegetables. Very good Yorkshire puddings & gravy too! Another of our party had the sea bass which she said was very good. We thought the meal was good value. We will return if we are ever in the area again.
Saturday afternoon and 30 people for a 3 course lunch for my mother in law’s 90th birthday. Mat and the team couldn’t have done more. The food was delicious and our guests were so complementary. This is our third function at The Green Dragon. We intend to go back for a quieter dinner soon. Fantastic guys thank you. Michael and Elaina nailed the brief. Highly recommended!! Mike & Sue

It’s been a while since we last came to the Green Dragon for a Sunday lunch. My partner and I have always thought this is easily the best Sunday pub lunch anywhere around here. It’s been recently redecorated and to be fair it was looking a little tired last time we came. Prices are towards the top end of the range for Sunday lunch but the quality of the ingredients and the food on your plate cannot be criticised at all. We had the beef sirloin and it was incredibly juicy and tender. Overall an excellent meal although sadly we missed out on the cauliflower cheese because it was sold out. We were booked very late in the day. Remember to book your table as it’s always busy!!
Lovely little place, had the fish n chips which was fantastic, and the missus had the pork belly which she says was the best she's ever had. Great atmosphere, extremely good value, and outstanding staff, cheers
Went for Sunday lunch. Good selection on the menu and the food was lovely. I didn’t take a roast but it looked lovely and the vegetables seemed gorgeous as well as the meat. I had the squids which were perfect and the fish pie. Absolutely lovely.
It's bad. It's very bad. I can't get the sticky toffee pudding out of my head.
The service was excellent and the food was exceptional. As soon as I got home I fell in a food coma and woke up wanting more.
I will be trying to convince my friends to make the long trek to TGD cause the food and service is worth it.
After a morning swim in the lake, my boyfriend and I where dying for a hearty meal. I suggested the green dragon as never been and just googled it once or twice. Can I say that the food absolutely exceptional and I have recommended everyone in the area. It is definitely our new spot and we’ll be back soon.

I was looking for a venue to host a Celebration of Life and came across The Green Dragon. It’s a superb country pub just outside of High Barnet. My request was a little unusual as we were ‘live streaming’ the event from Jamaica and Michael, Matt and the team could not have been more helpful. They truly made us feel at home and catered for our every need. The Green Dragon will now be my ‘local’, as it has great food, a lovely atmosphere and has a wonderful team. Thanks Michael and Matt for creating a truly memorable and special evening for my family.
Sunday lunch here on a warm sunny June day. Looking out over open country as we ate and drank. Great hospitality and service and a great welcome, including for our dogs. Tasty starters, generous main courses and an excellent range of drinks. Worth a visit!

The service is excellent, they are very kind.
Food is very good, superb quality (please, try the beef burger, it's amazing).
They have a wide selection of wine and beer (see menu photos attached).
The place itself is cozy and has a nice terrace outside you can use if the weather allows you to.

Steak lovers paradise and peppercorn sauce is wow! Tuesday evening is a bargain too , 2nd steak is free! How bad. Great wines and draughts, perfect and gr8 parking.
Nice enough Roast beef dinner, but was disappointed that only one slice of meat. For £19 I expect more than a slice.
Service was very good. Dog friendly too.
