We stayed for 4 nights to explore the area. Our room was lovely and comfy. Breakfast is between 8 and 9 with orange juice, tea/coffee, cereal and a full english made to order. It was very tasty. We also had an evening meal there - we highly recommend the steak and ale pie and the vegetable burger. B

An excellent hotel in a great area for walking, and near to the picturesque town of Barnard Castle. Very good service, comfortable room, and delicious food - both breakfast and evening meals. All Covid guidance followed strictly and courteously.

Lovely 3 night stay. Rooms clean and comfortable.Good breakfast and dinner. Great location for Barnard Castle if you want a quiet stay.Good walks to the river behind Bowes Castle I would recommend for people taking their Pet dog on holiday. Very good value for money.

Beautiful pub / hotel . Well organised with regards to covid 19 requirements. Food was great and the service was friendly and helpful. Easily accessible from the A66.
