Fantastic stay from the moment we got into reception until the minute we left. Staff were very helpful and professional throughout our stay. Facilities were excellent with free wifi, tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits in the room. The room was clean and modern with a nice view over fields. The bar and restaurant were also clean and bright and the food was excellent. Both my wife and myself had steak. Mine was rare and her's was well done. Both cooked to perfection. Again the staff were helpful and professional. We both had a good nights sleep and breakfast was served in minutes with all local tasty ingredients. If I have any criticism of the hotel is that the room was very warm when we got there and we had to turn the radiator off. I would highly recommend a stay here. One of the best experiences i have had in a hotel anywhere.
We went there as a family for a Sunday meal.
The staff were excellent, The starters are large and are very high quality. We were all very impressed with ours. The carvery is perfect with 4 diffret meats to choose ffrom and several other vegetables and sausages to fill your plate with. There are several puddings to choose from and they were all freshly made and tasty.
Over all I would defiantly visit again in the near future
Brilliant, all food is freshly prepared, and piping hot. Good ambiance, great service. Not stayed overnight, but I bet it's superb. They cater for weddings too. ! 👀 look it up. You'd be pleased you did.
Really liked this place. Didn't really know what to expect when we walked in bit got to our room and pleasantly surprised even if it looked like something from 50 shades. Also the breakfast was amazing, best scrambled eggs I've had in a while! The staff were all really nice and helpful too!
The service and food were excellent, we went for Sunday lunch, there were two vegetarian choices as well as the usual meats. We don't normally have desserts but couldn't resist and thoroughly enjoyed everything.
Love this place. First went earlier in the year to celebrate nans 90th birthday and now make a point of visiting every time we're in the area. Amazing and attentive staff - so caring and thoughtful, especially to the older generation or those who need a little extra assistance. Food was excellent and portions are massive. Just how I like it!
Service is fantastic, all staff are happy to help and very polite during busy periods. Food is always hot and cooked well, the desserts are amazing (all home made) during summer the main eating are can get very hot and cramped with people queuing and some of the seating is a bit uncomfortable.
Great little place. Really accommodating and near all the sights in north dales. We stayed in the 2 bed cottage which had a lovely jacuzzi and was like a home from home. Mike and his team are very hospitable. Llamas, deer, horses and cows in the adjacent farmland a bonus !
Had a sunday carvery here can not fault at all, excellent food, good choice without there being to much to choose from, quick service, no standing in line for ages, hot plates!! hot food !! good atmosphere, nice staff who are pleasant and helpfull, comfortable bar area, and most importantly good value for money , and the place didnt stink of boiled cabbage either. Have to add this, went to a place just outside of darlington in small village as appeared to be a popular spot for a Sunday carvery and we were made to queue outside for 15 minutes in the freezing cold , doors were supposed to open at 12 !!! They didn't , and basically everything was the opposite to what I've mentioned here about the Jersey, and it was more exspensive very dissapointed. Jersey farm best place in darlington and Barney for a carvery 😉.
My family went for a roast dinner. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was to die for. The chef was very helpful and the waitresses were polite and unobtrusive. Very impressed and will be back
Nice carvery, reasonable price. Very clean. Don't know what rooms are like, but heard they're comfortable.

Lovely scenic views and walks around the area, with Barnard Castle and the Bowes Museum nearby.
Lovely place, staff were great, room was comfortable and clean, food was outstanding and a well stocked bar. What more could you ask for.
