What a find! Ate breakfast here whilst visiting the forties weekend. Gorgeous porrage with choice of toppings and a bacon roll with really good local bacon. Also caters for gluten free diets and you are confident they really do understand about it. My husband enjoyed a great gluten free breakfast. Definitely one to re visit.

Lovely spot at the top of the Bank. Doggie friendly too which most Barney tea rooms aren’t. Nice cheesy scone and sausage sandwich (which pup enjoyed). Extra hot water for the tea. Warm and cosy on a cold day 😀🐕🐾👍

What a little gem of a place, I’m coeliac and dairy free and the staff were very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. The food was delicious, beautifully presented and good sized portions! My husband and daughter loved their meals too.

My breakfast here today as part of a large jolly celebratory group ( with diverse orders) was absolutely excellent. The service, quality of food and taste of everything was superb. I highly recommend Penny's. Thank you to all the staff. It was a perfect start to the day!!

First time visiting Penny’s but won’t be the last, the staff were excellent and very attentive. Food was spot on, and the homemade cakes, well, it took a while to decide which one to have and prices were very good xx

My partner and myself enjoyed a beautifully presented cream tea of the highest quality. A lovely selection of sandwiches was accompanied by a home made scone with jam and cream, chocolate macaroon, and a cake of our choice. Endless cups of tea were enjoyed with a refill always offered. Exceptional value for money.

Super Fast service very polite staff and very clean cafe and toilets. Very busy and dog friendly. Quite a few dogs in and all very well behaved. We only had coffee but the food and cakes looked nice. Will possibly be back for more. Update ! We went back and had some food. Lovely eggs with golden tasty yokes and fantastic value for money great size portions. Even got dog treats.

Excellent gluten free menu available with lots of options including breakfast, lunch, and two types of scones. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was delicious and fresh. Plenty of room with both upstairs and downstairs seating areas and a baby change facility on both floors. Window says all dogs welcome and there was a dog bowl outside too. Just to note that cash is preferred, but they accept card over £5. A great find!

A good spot for lunch. Pretty busy, but I didn't have to wait particularly for anything - the coffee was pretty much instantaneous. The sandwich was pretty reasonable, although the sausage did make a bid for freedom, but was foiled by some quick finger work. The only thing I'd say to improve things is that I didn't realise there was an upstairs until I heard it mentioned to some people who came in after me. In fairness, there was a table downstairs for me.to sit at, which I did. That said, I'd have preferred to be a bit further from the door just to keep away from the cooler air coming in whenever anyone else came in or went out. There _is_ a notice about the upstairs seating, but it sort of fades into the background: if it was just that bit more visible, that would be perfect...

Lovely staff, upstairs and downstairs seating and dog friendly. Food came out a bit too quick, had toasties which was a bit soggy and chips not fully cooked in middle. Lovely cake selection and and hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows. Definitely worth a visit.
