Only just Found this Place and visited twice in a week.
The food is amazing especially the pork with proper crackling and the salmon bites were to die for.
The staff are fantastic and they can't do enough for you even when they are busy.
Lovely hosts as well who like to come and have a chat.

We had our private Wedding Party on 28th Oct at Valentines. Had an absolutely fabulous night thanks to Mark, Arthur, Lucy and Ryan. Fabulous hosts, fabulous food, fabulous company and rather a lot of alcohol, great recipe for a fantastic night. Thank you so much, can’t wait for anniversary party !
Absolute gem of a place. Everything from cleanliness, atmosphere, service and of course quality of food is nothing short of excellent! Great menu, home cooked dishes and a good veggie menu.

Absolutely amazing place. The staff were so friendly (even though they were run off their feet). The food came hot, fast and was delicious. We had the Camembert and mushrooms to start, hunters chicken and scampi for main and then shared a golden nugget cheesecake. Would come back here in a heartbeat
A pleasant experience from the phone call to book right through to paying the bill. Staff all lovely and attentive but not in your face all the time. The food was amazing as was the general atmosphere in the building. A credit to Barnard Castle.

After 6 months closed we visited Valentines for lunch yesterday. It would have been understandable if things were a little rusty after so long without being open. Nothing could be further from the truth. The food, service and hospitality were as good as ever. The new outside area looks stunning and

We love the food and service at Valentines, we wish we lived a bit closer to pop in more often, but definitely our go to place when we visit Barnard Castle! Very friendly staff and owner, wish we could rate them higher! Will call in again soon!
