We came to celebrate our anniversary. Each course was delicious but I must say the pizza was the best I have ever tasted. I had the seafood pizza with smoked mackerel and crab, it was light and full of flavour. My partner had the calzone which was gigantic and so tasty I didn’t get a bite. They also have a gin and tonic menu which made me very happy. We’ll hopefully be back soon.
Lovely place and a great dining experience. Very attentive staff. The food my partner and I had was fabulous. In fact I would say it was the best trout I have ever eaten. We will definitely be returning!
Had a wonderful dining experience here on Saturday night. The bar area is lovely to sit and have a drink while looking at the menu, there's a gorgeous roaring fire and lovely decor. Attentive, friendly service and delicious food. The gluten free choices are good and the gf chocolate brownie was lovely. Will be back, hopefully on a nice Summer evening to be able to enjoy as the surrounding scenery which is very pretty.

I would always recommend this eatery. Eaten here many times and never had anything other than a fab meal! The Food is great, the staff always friendly and the atmosphere so relaxing!

Beautiful surroundings, wonderful staff and exceptional food and service at The Tickled Trout. This place was recommended to us and we thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We sat in front of the log fireplace....we will definitely return

Fabulous decor and ambiance as soon as you walk in the door. ....that's before I saw the "Gin shelf! !"..things got even better. ..lovely friendly attentive staff and plenty of them..nothing was too much trouble. .food was delicious. .would highly recommend. ..definitely be back. .loved it ��. ..
Pizzas are great and highly recommended! A superb and versatile restaurant where you can have a casual pizza and a pint or if you prefer you can have a more upmarket dining experience with fresh Derbyshire produce. I only wish I lived a bit closer to be able to make it my go to restaurant!
What a find! Lovely place and disabled friendly for my mother in law, placed us at a table that was near the loos away from too much noise and had space to park her walker. The food was immense, best chips I've had in a long while and loved the Derbyshire rarebit and cheeseboard (you can never have too much cheese). Thank you for looking after us :)
Last minute booking, but they were able to accommodate us, food excellent, good value for money with lovely friendly staff. Wee bit of a wait, but not excessive.
Lounge area dog friendly, even for my giant boy and waitress brought Sam his own water bowl and offered us free dog biscuits from the jars by the dog water station. Woukd definitely visut again next time we're in the area

Well what can I say, the workers that work there seem to enjoy what they do, and that flows into the way they treat the customers, great place to eat or drink, I have been there eight times and I am looking forward to the next time 😊😊

What can I say. Simply awesome! We read a super detailed negative review that had us questioning our booking, but we took it with a pinch of salt & how glad we are! A party of 4, we have enjoyed every single aspect of our evening. Extremely quick and friendly service without feeling rushed. The decor and atmosphere are lovely. The food was outstanding. I opted for the chicken burger followed by the Panna Cotta & it was beautiful. The servers were all attentive & friendly, especially the Greek chap whose name I did not catch, but who made our experience all the better. We were staying at a nearby caravan site & are already planning a return trip, solely to come back here again 🍽️😍
Great country pub clean and modern great friendly staff...not had a mealyet but my friend tell me its very good so on my list 🥂🍻

My husband and I called and had a bite to eat on Wed 16th Aug. The food was fantastic, the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. So very pleasant and welcoming. This used to be my Auntie and Uncles pub many years ago, so it was great to see it being so successful. The prices were really good and as for the service charge, they all deserved every penny. Thankyou for such a fantastic experience.

I had wanted to try out this gastropub for some time and spend a few squid on some top notch food. Well it does not disappoint ! Its clearly popular and busy, the ambiance of the place is very inviting, comfortable and the many staff very attentive and helpful.
We had some calamari and garlic bread to start with and share, the garlic bread was amazing and reminiscent of the garlic butter found in french escargots, rich and delicious. The calamari was served with some lovely tartare sauce and hit the spot.
Followed the fish of the day and sea vegetables. Flaky cod cooked to perfection, tons of flavours yet subtle and balanced.
The famous fish and chips was beautiful and executed perfectly. Nothing more to add, it did what it said on the tin. Perfect.
Now then for the spatchcocked chicken and chips (+ spicy slaw). This was simply "the best chicken I ever had" said my daughter. Moist and melt in the mouth texture with just the right hint of thyme and lemon and a touch of smoky flavours. It fell off the bone and clearly had a huge amount of attention to details in the execution. Simple food executed as it should.
We ran out of steam for dessert and shall be back in the pub section to try some out!.

First visit ,travelling from Hathersage.We had three excellent courses, good wine selection and varied menu. Service was excellent as was the quality of every course.
We would definitely recommend the Tickled Troutand Will visit again.
Went here for my monthly treat after fasting for 4 days so was expecting a lovely fish to wake me up. I didn’t realise my fish was going to be dryer than the seats when the beer I ordered spilt all over the table and chair! Ended up with a beer battered fish after that. The interior looks like the inside of a fishing boat which adds to the atmosphere of the establishment, too bad it also stank of fish.
