Excellent food, excellent service will be returning soon! ***Update** Returned 2 weeks later and had a different starter, main and dessert just as excellent as the first time and the extra bonus this time is that Wednesday and Thursdays in July they have 20% off food! So an absolute bargain for such wonderful food.

Best pub around Cambridge - a must visit. Biggest complement is that everything is consistently 5*. Our favourite pub by a long way. Food is fantastic, service is always top draw and a superb cosy atmosphere. Also dog friendly!

Managed to try it out pre tier 4 lockdown . Tables are spread out. Feel very covid safe. Great food. Lots of nice choices on the menu. Meat cooked on the rarer side for both the burger and the venison. That's ok for me but may not but suitable for all. The waitress never asked how we wanted the meat to be cooked. Was disappointed with the portion side of the Christmas pudding.

We really enjoyed our visit to Fox and Hounds on Sunday for a roast. The service and staff were really friendly, efficient and quick. For starters we ordered duck terrine and salmon tartare. Terrine was flavoursome with layers of duck, carrot and leek. Quince jam complemented the dish really well, terrine also came with a slice of toasted sourdough bread. Salmon tartar was lightly smoked and had capers and herbs throughout it, it came with a runny quails egg as well as a soda bread. It was a great start of the meal. We both had roast beef for our mains, it was sensational. Meat was so tender, thinly sliced and cooked to perfection, it just melted in the mouth. Potatoes were crispy outside and soft and fluffy inside, cabbage was vibrant green and crisp, cauliflower cheese cooked al dente and not mushy. Yorkshire pudding was massive had a crispy and soft texture, exactly how you would expect a perfect Yorkshire pudding to be. Pies du resistanse was my dessert, custard tart with boozy raisins and nutmeg, the pastry was really thin and custard perfectly set and silky smooth. We also had steamed pudding, it was equally as delicious and came with real custard. Thanks to everyone at Fox and Hounds for a fantastic meal I really can’t wait to return in January.

Airy lovely pub, own kitchen herb garden and large outdoor space with children's play area. The decor is welcoming and the staff are friendly and professional. Our main course was disjointed. We ordered two steaks one medium one rare. Unfortunately both were overcooked but we swapped the rare for medium for eating instead sending it back. A new order for the rare was made. Simple mistake but followed through swiftly, so bravo for that and it was tasty when it arrived! The waitress offered two complimentary drinks as an apology but we turned those down. Hispi cabbage absolutely lovely as are the chips. The quality of meat is also good. Desserts week are THE star. Devine. Cherry Bakewell with boozy cherries served warm and a lemon tart with the flamed brulee top. We didn't ask for compensation, only the correct order for the steak, which they delivered. They took off 2 drinks and the service charge from the bill. We're confident to come back and enjoy the food again.

Probably the best pub meal I've ever eaten. Such tender, tasty lamb and the scrumpet was a revelation. Everyone else said their meal was delicious too. Excellent friendly service in this wonderful old pub. Looking forward to our next visit
