We arrived at The Starfish on an extremely wet day, to be greeted at the door by a very helpful waiter who gave us our choice of table for lunch. The menu had plenty of variety and after placing our order we took in the many nicknacks that were placed about the restaurant. Our lunch came and as well as it being beautifully presented, it was lovely and fresh. The waitress kept us topped up with coffee, which was very welcome on such a cold day too. A very quirky B&B, with plenty of atmosphere and extremely attentive staff! Definitely worth a visit......

What a wonderful visit we had in Bangor. My husband, John, and I were treated with the most lovely hospitality. The room was cozy, the view was breathtaking, the food was delightful and our hosts, Chris and Jenny and their staff, were so accommodating. If I could rate it 10 stars, I would. Thanks for making our journey fantastic - all the way from Caseville, Michigan, USA

Been here twice. Nice place and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Ordered an egg dish but the poached egg was over done. Replaced with the perfect poached egg with no fuss at all!

10 stars if I could. The food is amazing, the atmosphere quirky and inviting and the people are the most welcoming lovely lot. Service is always top notch. The Starfish has firmly become our favourite saturday breakfast spot after a stroll on the beach.

I love The Starfish and everything about it, even going to the ladies/gents is a pleasure. I've only ever eaten breakfast there but it is superb. The very warm welcome is lovely every time I've been. Love the food, love the coffee, love the staff. Well done Starfish.

Beautiful place with great character and ambiance. I live in Bangor and haven't stayed at Cairn Bay myself but put someone else up there are got a very enthusiastic response. I saw the room and was a little bit jealous - wanted to stay there myself. I'm delighted to realise the place is open for breakfast and brunch.

This place is adorable! The view is stunning and Chris and Jenny were lovely hosts! The breakfast was superb and creative each time. The coffee (important to us) ...off the charts! The homemade breads ...delectable! The lunch chowder ...exceptional! I’ve never met these folks before, I have no bias. My wife and I were just overwhelmed by their hospitality and kindness- we would stay again in a heartbeat! We’d like to try it in the summer someday. - John & Margaret Gunden, Caseville, MI, USA

What a hidden Gem, had a wonderful brunch today with my mum. Enjoyed using a gift voucher from a dear friend. We will be back for sure - the food was amazing, the staff a pleasure to meet and the surroundings so perfect - even the fire lit. Quirky and can’t wait to return. Thank you and well done to all the team.

Great place for a night's stay. Especially for a quick run round to Ballymacormick Point in the morning, before an amazing breakfast!

This is a wee gem. I rung and mentioned it was my 50th birthday breakfast and they kept me the best table. Much appreciated. Xx

The Starfish has been on my 'to visit' list for some time. Finally got there three weeks ago (and back again yesterday). Fantastic place to visit, lots of little treasures my children were fascinated by, the friendliest staff and an excellent menu. So much more than the usual 'fry' on the menu. Local crab, avocado, mushroom and baked egg dishes. Lovely views over Ballyholme bay can be enjoyed outside with your dog. One tip though for a Saturday at least is to ring ahead as it's very popular and there are always plenty of tables reserved. Even so the staff will try and fit you in

It's our little treat of the week. Possibly the best breakfast I've had in NI. Oozes quality, and the staff are so kind!

Lovely place by the coast, the food has always been delicious but every time we go we all hate the coffee, it's way too sour almost like there's something wrong with it... Still keep going because the place is lovely and the food is good!

Absolutely beautiful brunch! Very high quality ingredients, nice relaxed decor. Really good choice of dishes, very well priced for the quality of dishes received. It has a lovely seating area in the front garden, with beautiful views overlooking the sea. We will definitely be back!

This is a charming cafe /restaurant on an elevated site with clear views of the seafront. We all had the seafood chowder which was absolutely the best I have had in Bangor. Lovely bits of various seafood in a light creamy sauce with vegetables and samphire. The staff were attentive and the prices reasonable.

The sausage in the bacon & sausage bap was very solid and I didn't eat it all. Was disappointed on arrival as we had both come there especially for the porridge which was brilliant the last time we went. It wasn't on the menu this time but we tried other options which we didn't really enjoy. There were only 2 other people in the breakfast area so little atmosphere. A few more outside though. Most pleasant staff though.

First visit after being recommended by a friend. Lovely spot with gorgeous views. Staff are excellent. Coffee was absolutely first class and my loaf cake and hubby's banana bread were delicious. Will most definitely be back.

Fabulous cafe based in a lovely 100 year old house that also has a B&B business. You don't have to be staying at the B&B to eat at the cafe. The food is outstanding and the service is friendly and efficient. It serves breakfast, lunch, great coffee and has daily specials on the menu. This popular Bangor cafe is in a beautiful location that looks out to sea at the mouth of Belfast Lough. There's indoor and outside seating and plenty of free parking in the area.

Took my wife and nieces for breakfast this morning. Wonderful decor, friendly staff and great quality produce, well cooked and expertly presented. A step-up from the usual breakfast/brunch menu and we can't wait to return. A definite keeper!

Excellent place for a coffee, breakfast or lunch. Bijou B&B and quaint inside decor. Service was excellent, as was the view over Ballyholme Bay. Sunny day to sit outside. We'll be back!
