Really lovely setting by the river, lots of parking, inside and outside space to eat and drink. Great menu including gluten free menu with lots of choice. Amazing food, lots for your money and a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Slightly understaffed for the hot bank holiday weekend but not a huge delay on food and drinks. Staff were working as hard as they could. Very pleased thank you!

Visited on the off chance on Sunday with my wife and wow so glad we did. The location is lovely and we found the staff very friendly and very good with customers. We both had the Sunday roast and wow it was so good, quality produce and so tasty. The gravy has to be the best i have ever had. We will tell our friends about you and we will be back. Thank you for caring about what the customer eats and also for making us welcome.

Absolutley Fantastic place. Just moved into the Village with my partner and have eaten there twice. The Mixed Grille, Steak, Fish & Chips & Gammon all were superb. Warm welcome from all the staff. Top class Chef and super relaxing environment to be in. Can't wait for summer so we can enjoy a drink on the river. A definate Must for anyone.

We visited the royal oak for Sunday lunch today and it was way beyond our expectations. Food was lovely well presented and plenty of it cooked to perfection as well. I would also like to say the staff were very friendly and efficient. If you are looking for a place to go for a nice meal in a friendly atmosphere I would strongly recommend you try the royal oak x

Service was lovely and quick - plenty of options available even for a Sunday afternoon. Male toilet facilities also acceptable, though rather small.

Absolutely lovely meal, everything was cooked to perfection. Service was exemplary, our server Olivia was so welcoming and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Husband thoroughly enjoyed his bread and butter pudding, which he said was absolutely delicious! (I was too full to have dessert!) Prices included our drinks too

Looked in our cupboards and nothing appealed so we ventured out for random pub visit. Really friendly happy staff immediately gave us a good impression, hoped the food was going to be equally as good.... A very short wait later our food arrived, looked great and tasted even better! I had the steak which was cooked to perfection, rest of family loved theirs to including my very fussy 4 year old! We'll be back soon, very soon!! Great pub!🍻

We had a great dinner and a very enjoyable time at the Royal Oak. The Steak and Ale pie was excellent. The pub itself is low key and really hits the mark. If you haven’t been in a while, I highly suggest you visit soon. If you’ve never been, head on over. Bangor-on-Dee is a beautiful village, right on the River Dee, with great views and scenic walks. The Oak has outdoor seating too. Thanks.

Kim and I, together with our dogs Monty and Stanley, called in on the off-chance for a meal on August Bank Holiday Monday. The bar managers were welcoming, and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Fresh water provided for the dogs and brought to the table with two dog biscuits. Kim and I had Ciabattas with bacon, brie and cranberry with a small salad, coleslaw and fries which were tasty and well presented. A lovely pub excellently staffed. Thank you.😀

Second time that we have visited in 10 days. Fantastic meal with a menu that had options that suited 3 different generations. Service was excellent, food was tasty, hot and plentiful. Unpretentious but comfortable and authentic setting. The only thing that needs to be fixed is the menu on the website is VERY out of date so don't let that put you off. We will be back as it was an extremely enjoyable meal.

First time dining yesterday, Sunday Lunch very good, service also good, however wished I'd been told about discretionary service charge added to my bill, if I return I will ask for this to be removed. I'll be the judge of how much I'll tip thanks

This is a great place for a bite to eat and a drink. The food and drink were spot on, staff were polite and friendly, service was fast, and the sun was shining. What more could you ask for.

We came late on a busy race meeting day. Offered the reduced menu initially, the team reacted quickly when they realised how hungry we were! Full menu - our choices cooked very well and with brilliant service. Not high end but very very good pub grub. We will go again.

I love this place. The staff are very warm/welcoming, absolutely lovely. They have good food at very reasonable prices. But best is the location. Right on the River Dee, across from the church. This is an excellent pub!
