A first visit, lovely atmosphere and great food. Friendly service and worth the drive from north of Banbury.
We loved every course, from sharing flatbread starter, to surf n turf: bavette steak cooked perfectly medium rare and served with prawns and piping hot crispy chips. We had sticky toffee pudd
I chose this location because of its rural location. A beautiful inn, in the middle of beautiful countryside. We were met by a warm smile and duly had great service by two busy ladies during our lunch. The food was excellent, freshly cooked, high quality cuisine with beautiful flavours. It would be
We have just come back from a wonderful night's stay, we had 3 rooms and all of our party were impressed with the standard of the rooms and the breakfast which had everything from fresh fruit, granola and a choice of cooked breakfasts. The location couldn't be better, we were right in the centre of W
Beautiful pub in idyllic village. Food, beer and service surpassed an already high-expectation! Can't wait to go back.
Came here after seeing it when I was driving past one day. The staff are friendly as soon as you arrive and the decor is perfect for the old building its in. The food was amazing and we couldn't find anything wrong with it, the Sunday lunch menu is value for money (2 courses for £17.50 or 3 for £22.
8 of us and one child for Sunday lunch, it was a relaxed and very nice atmosphere. The service and food was excellent, we all recommend the pub and will go back if this way again
It is a pleasure to write a review on such a wonderful place. From the excellent quality and selection of Beers and Ales to the overall excellence of the food everything at this classic pub is first rate. The care and appreciation of place and quality shines through in the hospitality of the owner
Had a great lunch and excellent real ales. Note though that prices on specimen menu on website are somewhat out of date.
Competent kitchen goes above basic, a limited ambiance inside.
Excellent atmosphere and food (we had skinny chips with truffle and Parmesan and the gem wedges)
It was the first pub visit for our rescue puppy and he was welcomed by the pub Labrador.
Definitely recommend
The tastiest gluten free sticky toffee pudding ever. Really friendly staff. Highly recommend. Great ambience even in corona times.
After a local walk we stopped here for some lunch. Beautiful location and building. Staff very helpful and attentive. I ordered the cheese+chutney baguette - which was delicious. And the Windrush Ale from North Cotswold Brewery was delicious. Dropped a star for the long wait for my baguette. Lovely
Loved it! Great village pub with great food and nice people. The youngsters serving were good fun and efficient. We had a table of 9 that they handled with ease. The food was delicious from an adventurous menu for all tastes. Good parking and Covid precautions.
Our starter was sharing ribs. Genuinely the best ribs I've ever had! That stands up to any take away Chinese or Thai I have ever had.
Our mains were chicken flatbread and suet steak and kidney pie. Both top notch!
Add to this the lovely, friendly, attentive staff and you have yourself such a nice ni
Lovely local pub with good food and drinks
Loved this pub! We were a group of 7 blokes staying in the area for a long weekend and went here for lunch on the Friday. It was so good we came back again on Sunday. Great beer, superb food and excellent service!
Took some friends for a meal. Girls catch up. Really good food. The owners and staff all lovely and welcoming. For a nice relaxed meal out and good food it's perfect, as was the steak I had.
Will be back soon
A great English country pub with good parking, friendly staff, a great menu and a broad selection of beers. There's a nice outdoor seating area, too.
A book containing local walks around the Shipston area is often available for purchase and I highly recommend getting a copy. There's a lovely 4 mile
