We were looking for somewhere to eat in Parsons Street , and there's a fair amount of choice - Thai, Japanese, but Hubbie fancied a burger. Hey presto we found this little gem! Imagine his excitement to see that the Thursday night offer was 'beer and burger for Β£13! Thursday night is also quiz night so we stayed for that too. Can't fault the menu, food or service and would definitely recommend it and hopefully go back soon . Didn't win the quiz but had fun trying

16 of us had Christmas lunch here today, we had a great time, the waiting staff great, the food was lovely all served on time and the main was lovely and hot. A special effort was made for me as I didn’t like the vegetarian option on the menu.. This is the 2nd time we’ve had Christmas lunch here and have had a good experience each time, will certainly come again...

We booked The Globe room for an early Christmas family gathering and absolutely loved it. The room is like something out of Hogwarts, it's like stepping back in time. The staff had laid the tables with gold table runners, candles and crackers and the room had Christmas garlands, with lights, Christmas tree and 'snow' on the windows. All the staff were excellent, so attentive and helpful - Anthony was really friendly and helpful during the booking process and on our arrival and our waiter, Josh, was great fun. Food was excellent and brought to the table very efficiently. We all had such a great time......we plan to book again for next year!! Well done.

Four of us on a weekend catch up in Banbury. We had been in for a drink at lunchtime & the food & atmosphere looked good so decided to go back for dinner. We weren't disappointed. The steaks were fantastic, very well presented & the staff were extremely friendly. Highly recommend.

Found, via Google, that this was a "doggie" pub, and ideally placed for a stop off for a meal when travelling from Leeds to catch the 23.30 night ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre with our schnoodle, Sybil. Very friendly buzzing pub (6.30 on a Saturday evening) with great food in the bar (6oz steak and chips for Β£6 was brilliant). Loved the Hook Norton Brewery beer - but only had 1 pint as long drive ahead. Will stop off here again.

Great well kept beer, appetising pub grub at a reasonable price with a relaxing atmosphere, great place to be on a wet Saturday afternoon or out the back on a summers day.

Popped in here a couple of times for food and a few pints. My first experience of a pint of hooky was in here, lovely stuff. The food menu is great for veggies and carnivornes a like. Highlights were the lasagne, fish n chips and the side dishes. Good honest pub grub that is well priced and hearty. Decor is amazing in that old worldy english inn kind of way, this is the oldest pub in Banbury and has the decor to suit. The booze selection is great from ales to shorts, there are some really interesting wines on the shelves in giant demi johns with flavours such as raspberry, elderflower etc. Well worth a punt. Thumbs up from me, next time we are down we will definately be heading in.

So glad that I finally was able to enjoy this pub. Every time I walked in it was packed. I was so sad yesterday that I arrived just as they sold out of their Sunday Roast. Excellent beer and great food. Very friendly and helpful staff all around. I would have to say that this is hands down the best pub in Banbury. I look forward to coming back again.

If you are visiting Banbury, one of the highlight must be The Reinedeer Inn. The Globe Room is magnificent.

WOW!! What a fantastic place!! This is one of the most beautiful pubs we've ever been to, steeped in history, circa five hundred years old and being the secret head quarters of Oliver Cromwell during the Civil War! 🀩 We never ate, so I can't comment on the food however, the food coming out looked good! The beer was so fresh and tasty and the pub is owned by the brewery Hook Norton! Carla the manager is so lovely and gave us a proper history lesson about the building! 😊 This is a definite 5 stars from Nigel and Claire! 😊 Thank you and hopefully see you again one day! BTW . . In the rear garden courtyard photo, I've just noticed a strange image of a face in the window of the property to the right! Could someone/management verify this please as to whether I've photographed a ghost or it'sjust some kind of ornament lol !! 😱 πŸ˜†

Historic coaching inn, with the full range of Hook Norton brewery beers on the bar. Sumptuous beamed interior, with the historic globe room and the rear. An attractive courtyard to the side of the pub offers ample outside space for summer drinks and dining.

Nice pub. Husband had fish and chips, I had veggie quiche. Both were lovely. Basic pub food done well but nothing spectacular. The pub has a quirky charm. The decor and building is very traditional and old fashioned. Friendly staff and good service.

I have been going to this pub for many years, on and off. I've seen quite a few landlords come and go, but the atmosphere and the service stay the same. The atmosphere is calm and restful. The music is in the background and adds to the atmosphere rather than take it over. The staff are lovely, helpful, efficient, fun, and respectful. There are always good beers on tap, and the wines are good, too. The food is very good too. I recommend the place to go to sit, enjoy company, share food or just have a drink and read a book.

Absolutely delicious beer, a wide choice available. Food was good as was the service. A great stop for lunch and a look in at history (links to Cromwell and the Battle if Edgehill). Don't forget to admire the impressive oak gates opening onto the courtyard.

I have been visiting Ye Olde Reindeer' for almost a year now and always have a such an amazing time! The place has a super cozy vibe, like stepping back in time. The food? Spot on! Love their classic pub dishes. And you've got to try their ales. Staff are extremely friendly and always make me feel right at home. If you're after a genuine pub experience, this is the place to be. Cheers!

17/09/22 Tried the new plant-based menu menu today and it was delicious! The rubbed wings and bites are sooooooo good! And the jackfruit burger is the best! Too bad I was full and skipped dessert, but next time I'll get something 🀩 The vegan menu is great and should be advertised more. Well done! Great vegan options and dog friendly! We love it 😍

Location On Parson St, perfect town centre location and you cannot miss that rustic sign! Interior What an incredibly interesting place, there is clearly a lot of heritage here, we sat in the back room which required a walk down some back corridors and appeared to be something out of mediaeval TV show it doesn't feel like somewhere that is smashing out incredible fried chicken burgers... was I mistaken?! Service Order at the bar and take your own drinks to the table (it's a pub right, kind of expected that). But the two guys who were working were both super friendly and although their table service was only delivering the food I wouldn't complain, they have a system and it works. Food/drink Let's walk through the food dish by dish Crispy fried & Reine deer rooster burgers - these where what we came for and they didn't disappoint. The chicken was super tender and the batter crispy. Smashed into a burger and served with plenty of chips and onion rings. πŸ™Œ Mac and cheese - another healthy portion of gooey cheesy pasta with two slices of toasted garlic bread. No complaints on thus one πŸ‘Œ Vegan Katsu curry - a breaded vegan patty covered in a rather tasty homemade sauce, the rice was a bit generic but overall a good eat. Fish and chips - a staple of the menu, good portion size and not too greasy. Overall another good meal Wild mushrooms and Pesto linguine - oh deer 🦌, I am afraid we were not a fan of this one. The whole meal was very very overpowered by mushroom, the only relief was the sheer amount of oil that had sunk to the bottom of the bowl. Unfortunately between 5 of us we actually couldn't finish this. Price Most mains are around the Β£10 mark which seems more than fair given the portion sizes. Drinks are pub prices so again spot on the money Overall A very interesting venue in the centre of Banbury which is smashing out some incredible food. Be careful what you order but the burgers are a solid choice!

Sat in the lovely, suntraped historical courtyard and had lunch and a pint. Great selection of Hooky beers and the food was decent and reasonably priced, but the portions were a bit small. Lots of veggy options, traditional pub grub and homemade pies, but no beef burgers, only chicken burgers or 'fake meat' ones.
