Called in for lunch and decided to share the fish platter for two between three of us. It was superb! Bottom layer was a cold fish selection which included oysters, crab, lobster, a variety of prawns and brown shrimp and also variants of salmon. The hot layer was also excellent and had a delicious variety of clams, muscles and fish. It came with bread, thick cut chips and a side salad. It was £65 and worth every penny! I'd anticipate the variety of fish on the platter might change depending on what's available but I wouldn't hesitate to order again. Staff were very good too. Best meal of our holiday.

What incredible staff to start. Amy was so warm and accommodating and the other staff too but didn’t get their names but they did live on a farm!! Sublime. 110% to the chef !! Outstanding food. A sumptuous haddock chowder and superb home cured salmon gravadlax.. and then it just got even better.. whole lobster Thermidor and the best halibut this side of Alaska ! Serious recommendation if you love beautifully cooked fish in an incredibly friendly staffed restaurant . What an amazing restaurant . We will def return

Here for 2 weeks and ate at this amazing place 3 times. Fabulous meals each time and huge portions. Chilli squid, lobster, mackerel, monk fish, razor clams, skate and halibut. The vegetable side was also lovely and great chips. It has a lovely atmosphere with friendly and efficient staff. The chef tonight was showing and teaching a young lad about lobsters. Would wholeheartedly recommend this place and only wish it wasn't 7 hours away from home !!!

Oh man, this place rocks! A bowl of their finest smoked haddock chowder for us both to start followed by half lobster, Thermidor for me and garlic for him, with chips and salad. Amazing, as always. My husband insists the creme brûlée is the best he has ever had. This is our favourite restaurant in the world, not just Northumberland

The chef/s are on a winner. They keep it fresh, simple with a little thought on garnish and flavour. Whether it's halibut, trout, haddock or lobster - every single dish was excellent. Fish was cooked expertly! Tip - Try the oysters and mussels as an entree. The oysters are so fresh and the white wine, garlic cream sauce on the mussels is finger licking good (just don't get caught) The chocolate delice and sour cherries 🍒 amazing The passion fruit Eton Mess - a smash! Bon appetite!!!

Friendly service, nice atmosphere and amazing food. I had the lamb which was delicious and came with tasty mash and perfectly cooked green veg. There was plenty of food, really worth the money. Friends had mussels, risotto, steak and lobster - all equally delicious.

Fabulous!!! Some of the best seafood ive had in a while! Extremely tasty, and different and so good to be able to have seafood that's not deep fried, crumbed or battered!!! Compliments to the chef!

Visited on Sunday 14 May and sat outside as we had our dog. The waitress came out straight away with menus and she was so lovely, chatting and very friendly. The food was beautiful - we had the oysters then lobster. We will definitely be back!

This was a great place to eat. The food was fantastic. However I have to say it was pricey. There are cheaper places that offer great quality food too. So if you can afford it in these days of high cost of living really do come here it's worth it. I was feeding a family of 4 so felt the pinch a bit.

A wonderful visit. Everything about it was lovely - the food, the staff, the atmosphere. Loads of options and around 5 specials each for starter and main on top of the menu so lots to choose from. The mussel portion for the main was huge! And delicious. They made us feel very special as we were celebrating our anniversary. Would definitely recommend 😊

Excellent and very tasty food!! Great restaurant deco as well.. Very generous portions, I probably should have had a mug of haddock chowder instead of a bowl...my wife loved the mussels for her starter again generous portion!!

First time to the Potted Lobster. It had been on my list of places to visit for some time. Opted for the seafood platter for 2. So glad I didn't order a starter as you can see from the photos. Great value for money even at £100. The food was absolutely delicious. The service was great. Will definitely be back. Make sure you book ahead. It's very popular.

Had an amazing lunch at The Potted Lobster - I didn't have the lobster, but all the other options were amazing. Would definitely recommend booking beforehand as dinners in the summer months are booked weeks in advance. The wine selections are great.

Good food, starters were good. Overall pretty pricey for what I got for my halibut main special, but cooked very well and tasted very good. Partner had dressed crab salad which was very good.

We had an amazing experience at The Potted Lobster. We booked here as it was dog friendly, and we are so glad we did. We had three courses each and two drinks each (three alcoholic, one soft). For starters: Mussels in a creamy white wine sauce & Leek and Gruyere tart For mains: 10oz Sirlion steak with chips & Grilled Hake with Dauphinoise potatoes (special) For dessert: Creme Brulee with millionairs shortbread I honestly can't fault it one bit, I've never had a steak cooked so well before, and the creme brulee was to die for. 10/10 recommend as a must visit!

Had a nice evening at the posted lobster 🦞 the website could been more clear as where sat with dog friendly area and although nice just did not feel comfortable the seats. My fiancé and myself had seat by the bar area my seat was to high as if I was looking down on her not the best. Starters superb she had scallops I had deep fried squid, main course was haddock and I had sea-bass haddock came with fresh vegs and potatoes very nice my sea-bass came with fries 🍟 no veg (not the best dish I have had expected more ) very dry dish. We shared a desert crème brûlée this was amazing. Best dish of the night. Overall quite expensive for two people £125

Was amazing. Sadly, due to being very busy and we were on a time limit we got served slowly. When I saw three waitresses just walking around not actually doing anything but talk to their colleagues. Working in the same industry, I get the business and slowness but not standing and talking when their are things to be done and service order taken. But the food was gorgeous, fresh and morish.
