Frew's Traditional Fish & Chip Shop Sit-in Or Take Away - Ballymena - Photo album

Can understand why this was voted best chippy in 2021. Reasonably priced, quality food. Really enjoyed their smoked haddock supper and the sausage supper lunch special with curry sauce. Wish you had a shop in Australia 🙂
The takeaway service: The fish supper for £10 considering the size of the fish is great value. However a portion of chips for £4 isn't, it's two scoops of chips and feels like a rip off. But it all tastes great.
We visited today as a large group of ASD children and parents. Firstly, the food was absolutely outstanding, but far more importantly the staff were so lovely, and very understanding of our children and their sometimes loud and slightly rowdy behaviour. They were nothing but kind, attentive and no
Best Fish & Chips I have ever had, the fish batter was light and crispy, crispy chips , great service from a great team who are pleasant and helpful, I sat in and the food was fresh cooked and well presented 🥇🥇
Everything was perfect but for one thing they served our meal which was delicious on stone cold plates which meant the meal was cold before we had finished. This spoiled this for me
Thank you for letting me have a lovely lunch today and letting my pup sit on my knee. Your shop is very clean, with friendly staff. I’ll definitely call again when next in Ballymena.
Stopped and grabbed a couple of cod fish suppers and a battered sausage for our tea on the way back from the North Coast on Sunday evening. Delicious, as always. Kids gobbled up their fish. Yum. 😋

Today I went on a hike to Trostan mountain and on my way home to Downpatrick I stopped in Ballymena and went to Merchant's. It was superb. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the fish and chips was delicious. If I'm ever in Ballymena again I will definately go back for some more yummy grub. :
Been a while since I have eaten from here and I don't know why it had been so long as the food was really good. Will be back soon for sure.
Best fish and chips I have tasted in a very long time
Best chips in Ballymena by far, but if you ask for salt and vinegar, I think they just wave the chips in the general direction of the bottles.
We stopped here specifically for fish and chips, we were traveling from further north back to Dublin and searched for options on Google Maps. We were not disappointed! Huge portions and super fresh! You order at the counter and they bring it to you when ready, everything seemed like it was made to o
Nice place to eat fish and chips our favourite and a top up of tea and coffee good staff
They have only begun to sell their menu gluten free recently, this is only on a Thursday night. I fully recommend it.
Really lovely food & very well priced. Today I realised just how much my local Ballymoney chip shops are ripping us off ! Nice seating, freindly service & great selection. This will definitely be my number one food stop whenever I'm in Ballymena.
Best fish and chips in this part of Northern Ireland
Sat in today for the first time and straight away I had to come back and give them a nice review! Had the traditional fish and chips with mushy peas and it was the nicest I've had in a while, the lemon wedge was also a nice touch and the chicken was cooked to perfection! This chip shop has a lovely
