Stunningly good fish and chips at a bargain price. Pukka pies also served. Restaurant is upstairs, it isn't fancy, but a really great place. I last came here 20 years ago, and if anything, it is better. No greasy chips here!
I ordered two specials, Cod Bites With Chips, for £4.50 each. They were gorgeous. The chips are to die for. The battered cod bites were pretty big and everything was seasoned to perfection. And it was hot too.
My son and I sat outside in the sun enjoying our meals. I went back inside after the meal
Probably the best fish and chips I have had away from the coast, well cooked and seemed very fresh. Service was good and portions a good size, definitely recommended whether you are a local or travelling through and need a good meal to help you on your journey. Well worth the diversion off the main
Very good quality fish n chips. Extremely good hygiene and staffing levels. Is not open on Sunday or Monday so don't be caught out by this. Open times are 11 30am to 2 and 430 to 9 on the other days, so not open continuously throughout the afternoon.
Ahoy me maties!!!!! 🏴☠️
So a little birdy told me about a chippy that was apparently good enough to rival the homelands offering... queue a 50 odd mile round trip! (Nothing to do with an excuse for a ride 😉 )
On arrival I have to admit I was impressed (first question being do you have Gravy?), lo
We just returned home from having a very nice meal of Cod and Clips at Maltings Restaurant in Baldock. The Chippy we used to regularly dine in as far back as the 1980s. It's lovely to know it's now restored to its former excellence and that being so satisfied today we can hope to regularly dine ther
Food was really good, some of the best chips in the area. Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely visit again.
Very friendly staff, food is extremely good quality, the lady serving upstairs (sue I believe) was very engaging actively going out of her way to ensure our visit was exceptional, Thank you
