Friendly staff, acknowledged straight away. Restaurant and bar were lovely and clean no dirty tables, staff were straight on it. Was served by Bailey who was on top form when told about my rare black pepper allergy, asking chefs and checking food and drinks as my allergy isn't actually listed on most allergen boards. Food was delicious (chef's board) presented beautifully. A previous experience here a while ago sadly was not as pleasant but glad I gave it another chance vastly improved. Range of drinks could be increased but what was there was satisfactory to say the least. Left with a full stomach and a much better experience.
It's good to be back to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a lovely Sunday roast lunch, and my roast beef was delicious! For desserts, I had a mini mocha torte and coffee, while my husband had a sticky toffee pudding, which I found very sweet and overpowering. Overall, it was a nice experience. :)
We had a lovely meal here, I had scampi n chips and a starter of Korean BBQ chicken, and my partner had a lovely chicken n ham hock pie which she said was the best she has tasted for a long while.
Only thing I would say there wasn't enough scampi but the meal was superb, the waitress was lovely too, will definitely be going back...
I was concerned about this place during Covid but since then it’s flourished. It’s been done up beautifully inside and out. Great ambiance. Very few pubs play music these days. Great specials menu and a wicked gin selection if that’s your thing.
Very pleased we chose this pub for a family lunch. The hosts were excellent, very attentive and friendly, ideal couple for this venue.
Im told they haven't been there very long but I think they will do well and business will increase with there great customer service.
Menu was a typical Greene King pub food but it was varied and suits all tastes,
Will definitely keep it on my list of places to ear when back in Baldock again.
Came in for lunch and had some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. The chef has to feel proud. The service was lovely as the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall 10/10 and great value for money. Would definitely recommend to my friends and family.
Many thanks to Donna who despite being the only member of front of house staff on duty (other staff off ill/absent etc) made our lunchtime visit and meal a real pleasure, if only all staff were as sociable/reliable and committed to providing excellent service as Donna then the service industry would not be suffering the irreversible decline that it currently is. I would hope that the owners/Management would take note and reward Donna accordingly..

Great friendly staff, which asked if we was being looked after, as soon as we walked in, even though they were busy with serving others.
Warm and cosy. Book ahead for a meal, as it is very popular and no table's available when we asked.
Good public footpath next to the pub, to walk the dog and return for a hot chocolate.
Although it was -2c outside, there was a lot of outside seating area, which will be busy in the summer.
Four of us made an impromptu stop here on Monday evening and enjoyed a really nice meal. We were really well looked after, particularly by James. Good value, full stomachs. Worth a return visit.
