Seven of us came here for the first time last Sunday, and we were warmly welcomed an shown to a table and quickly brought drinks. We had poppadoms and generous trays of dips which included lime pickle, a favourite of mine. The mains soon arrived and everyone was really pleased with their choice, my son who isn't a fan of Indian food absolutely loved his chicken balti and has now been converted.

Don’t understand the negative reviews. We went here monthly but since the new management, food was delicious and even the house wine was nice. We had three separate waiters, all of which were super helpful, very nice, attentive and didn’t feel rushed. Would happily go again. There’s mention of outdated restaurant? I’ve not been somewhere with beautiful hand painted art on the wall…..
Exceptional curry and exceptional staff.
I highly recommend the chicken tikka dansak and lamb madras! Best bindi I’ve ever had too.

Amazing meal. Randomly decided to walk in after seeing the £12.95 banquet night on Wednesday. The food and service was spectacular! Very understanding and not judgemental at all :) the food was at such a high quality. I would definitely recommend, it's become our new go to now for sure! It was nice to see it busy as well

We came here early Sunday evening and had a great time. My parents live in Cambridge but only go out for an Indian meal at The Lancer in Baldock, nowhere else will do!
The food is excellent, very very tasty, good portions. The service is exceptional and very friendly which makes a big difference to us and, as we don’t go out for meals that often in this financial crisis, it’s very welcome

went to the lancer on sun for our friends birthday, what lovely service we had by all the staff could not fault them at all,my husband and friend were not sure what to have and the man that served us recommended two meals to try well they loved it,we have been there before and never had a bad meal, even booked again for the end off the month ,and what was nice as we went dto go they came and gave my friend some cake to take home with happy birthday written on the bag how nice was that, well done lancer
We went to The Lancer tonight and was delighted with the food and service. There were six of us, two vegans, and they looked after us superbly. Each of us were catered for and looked after. The food was amazing and matched the service. Will definitely go again. Thank you to all at The Lancer.
