Location is very good as it's right in the middle of town. The downside is that some rooms get traffic noise. Very limited parking. The dining room is fab. High ceiling, lots of interesting paintings. We had a lovely Sunday roast and crumble for dessert. Breakfast also very good with buffet and cooked food. Room clean and newly decorated. Staff all very friendly and confident and competent. The cafe and bar areas also looked very welcoming.

This was my second time eating here. I love the decor in the dining rooms. The venue is dog friendly, even providing water bowls and complementary dog treats. The menu is not so extensive that it's difficult to choose, but there are plenty of options. We chose a few vegan dishes to share, including the humus and flatbread and the dahl. Absolutely delicious, hot and fresh. My cocktail was strong and well presented. The bill was mid-range. I believe £50 for 2 drinks, 1 main and 3 starters. Toilets are clean and lovely. We will certainly visit again when we are in the area.

Overall a lovely place with nice staff, but lacking some attention to detail. We booked the deluxe suite for a one night stay for a special occasion (£200). Room very nice but disappointing details such as bathrobes provided but missing the waist cords, so could not be worn closed, rooms unbearably hot and thick dust on the bulb connections on the lamps in the bedroom (fire risk/hygiene). No coasters for cups so coffee table marked and discoloured, damage to drawer front and marks on desk which gave a shabby feel to an otherwise well appointed room. Bedroom TV had a line of damaged pixels all the way across. Broken pump dispenser on the shower gel which traps your fingers. Breakfast very nice but we were sat there at least 15 minutes before we could order and even then we had to ask; especially frustrating as we were not able to book sooner than 9:30am and were keen to start our day. Side plates for toast had ran out and then the bread itself ran out. Breakfast drinks incredibly slow to be brought out despite not many people in the restaurant and when I later asked for tea it never arrived. All easy fixes and perhaps seems petty, but you do expect that extra attention to detail in such a nice hotel.

Had a great two-night stay. The room was small (in the courtyard)but had everything you needed and was spotlessly clean. The breakfast was cooked to order and was delicious. The coffee house has a relaxing vibe and the coffee is amazing. We left the do not disturb sign on the door and later found a hospitality bag hanging outside our door with everything you might require as housekeeping couldn't check the room. What a lovely touch. Can't wait to return.

A 3 day break booked in the Rutland Arms Hotel, situated in the centre of the fantastic town of Bakewell, if you’ve never visited , put it on your todo list you won’t be disappointed. We booked a first floor room at a cost of £200 a night B&B, the hotel does not have any lifts. Pros; The staff were pleasant,very friendly and accommodating, the hotel and rooms very clean and appeared to run efficiently, with minor hiccups here and there. The food was good. Great location giving easy access to most areas of the town. There is a bar and great coffee lounge. A 3 course meal was offered as part of the cost on one of the night Cons; The free car Park is in a Court Yard across the road from the hotel, spaces are at a premium, and once vacated for the day there is no guarantee it there when you get back. You then have to seek spaces on the public car parks. There is one disabled space reserved for people staying in the access room. There is a requirement that you pre - book breakfast time in advance, no just turning up. The price of drinks , as in a majority of the local establishment was expensive. The four poster bed was comfortable but took over the smallish bedroom The bathroom was incredibly small, but the best task was trying to access the toilet roll some 4 ft 6 ins up over your left shoulder( Please see the PHOTO) There was far too much furniture for the room and a distinct lack of drawers( ie NONE for socks and underwear) Conclusion; Bakewell is well worth a visit and I’m sure the Rutland Arms is well worth considering, as not all the rooms will be fitted out as ours was and I’m sure a majority of the toilet roll holders are more accessible. The hotel appears to be dog friendly( albeit it’s not my thing) but I’m unsure as to how disability friendly it is, looking at the layout of the main building. Overall an enjoyable few days in Bakewell.

Stumbled upon this fabulous establishment after being turned away as walk ins for a table for 2 elsewhere locally. The standard of food, service and décor are simply exceptional and in our opinion simply the best you will find in Bakewell. The verity of menu options, quality of ingredients, presentation ,attention to detail and service are second to none. We enjoyed the experience of dinner in such a grand dining room, this paired with the food and service was a fitting end to our stay locally. Thank you to the team at the Rutland Arms we will certainly be visiting again.

The room was unbearably hot. Everything else was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great. The corridor to the room was lovely and cool just the room was way too hot and we couldn't cool it down. To the point where I checked radiators etc.

My husband and I have just returned from an amazing trip with The Rutland Hotel in Bakewell. The hotel is central to Bakewell village so is easily accessible to the village and the main sights nearby. The staff were so welcoming and wonderful from the moment we stepped in the door. They even gave us a free upgrade to a 4-poster bed room! Every staff member we spoke with was polite, kind and helpful and the service we received was second to none! The rooms were clean, romantic and had excellent facilities. The coffee is the best my husband has ever tasted and it is their own company’s house blend so worth a try! We would happily recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone and would definitely visit again!
