This was so good we ended up eating there three times. Morning, afternoon, late afternoon.
I’m not a big fan of English Breakfast, I must admit. What I was served was good and not soaked in fat and so, which I really appreciated. My poached egg was unfortunately a hard boiled. I was on a 4 out of 5
The Bakewell pudding at this place was absolutely delightful! Its texture and flavor were spot on. However, I must admit that the tart was a tad too sweet for my liking. Nice little shop. I must admit I only knew of this place due to watching Susan Calman's Grand Day Out TV show. The food was fresh and lovely. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. A must visit! My first visit to Bakewell with my partner lead me here and it did not disappoint. The service from Callan was impeccable, restaurant was lovely and the Bakewell Tart/ Pudding were the best I’ve ever eaten in my life. Cannot wait to go again
Went with my husband and 18 month old. Food was delicious and came very quickly. We had lunch and then had some tea with the Bakewell pudding and a Bakewell tart. Atmosphere was very lovely and cosy. Staff were friendly ☺️
We had taken away Pastel denata, the famous Bakewell tart and Bakewell Pudding from here..all are super delicious.

Came to Bakewell as part of a holiday and this place was highly recommended and I now understand why! Very busy shop and restaurant. My mum wanted a proper bakewell pudding not tart so we had to go here and buy her one to take home. Service was great.
Within the Derbyshire Dales, the Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop is a must see shop to attend. Like many other shops in the area, this shop was ram packed with tourists from all over which was perfectly fine and expected. Popped in for an original Bakewell pudding whist on a cycle ride along the Monsal trail old railway line. Saw it on Google and on TV so had to give it a try. Went on a Sunday lunchtime in September and there was a long queue of tourists for the take away but it was worth it. Took it back to the camp
We visited the Original Bakewell Pudding Shop because of some recommendations on google and it was totally recommended. It was quite different with the kind of “Pudding” I knew, but it was very delicious.

A must-have in Bakewell and the perfect stop after a long walk. It’s no wonder the queue was out of the door! So many baked treats and a lovely gift shop too. Delicious Iced Bakewell Tart. We didn’t use the restaurant, so can’t comment on that.
Lovely Tea Rooms. Lovely variety on the menu. Huge cake slices! Very nice shop downstairs.
Coming to Bakewell it would be rude not to try the original version!
The building alone has plenty of character and filled with delicious treats and giftware.

The decor is stunning, the food so tasty I highly recommend the all things Bakewell afternoon tea (for one is plenty for 2) and their tuna sandwich & beef mustard sandwich are winners. The original Bakewell pudding was by far the best dessert.
