Popped in for a bit of lunch as both my partner and I fancied fish and chips. We got a large fish and chips to share (as it was only lunch) and it was a good portion size for us both.
The chips are exceptionally good, golden and crispy on the outside and fluffy as a feather on the inside.
First time here ....so impressed. Airy room...excellent..very polite staff couldn't have been any more attentive. Superb pensioners meal deal...just right size ,everything tasted and was cooked to perfection. So impressed with high hygiene standard to, thorough spray and tables wiped after . Would highly recommend. We will return.
Me and my partner were spoilt for choice when we wanted fish and chips. A friend recommended this place and we were glad we chose them. Fish & chips and jumbo sausage & chips absolutely lovely. Great service. 10/10
Excellent fish n chips. Beer wine tea and coffee. Service excellent. All dishes piping hot. All condiments available for free at the table.

Sally the manager served us. She is friendly and cheerful. Food was hot and tasty. Had to wait for a table but was worth it.
UPDATE
Went again yesterday (04/10/21). Nothing had changed. Staff excellent, very clean and still had to queue to get in. Still fantastic service and food was delicious. Jewel in the crown called Bakewell

I have to say this is some of the friendliest service we've received in a restaurant, in a long time.
The serving staff simply could not do enough to help everyone & make them as comfortable as possible, despite being very busy & rushed.
We had fish & chips which were to die for and we're very reasonably priced, & a lot cheaper than the cafe over the road!
We were offered a jar of home made tartar sauce, to go with our meal & it was simply gorgeous.
My only complaint is, that eventually we had to leave, to go home!

Really enjoyed fish and chips here. Nice portion, fair price. Found cod cooked well and not oily. Chips very nice as well. Service was fair, could be slight lot more attentive. Comfortable and modern interior.
Visited here as a couple on Market Day. We had the OAP specials. An apology was given for a lack of home made sauce tartare. Superb, tasty and perfectly cooked meals. With drinks and bread. Excellent service. I can't think of better fish and chips in the Midlands.
