Came in today, 18 August, with my son to take advantage of the amazing steak offer this weekend. Staff so friendly and welcoming great atmosphere. I had a rump he had a sirlion both ordered rare with garlic and parsley butter. Absolutely wonderful meal. Steak cooked to perfection and lovely quality. On top of that the chips were the best I've had in any pub! Would recommend the Castle to anyone ��
Love it! We were staying in the town of Bakewell, my work colleague knew of the castle inn so we went in the first night for dinner! Amazing fast service on the food! Excellent menu and food quality! Loved the ambiance, the owner is fabulous! We have eaten every night and even breakfast ( and we are not staying here!) we have booked rooms for next years show a year in advance!!

Lovely place, nice meal on our evening couldn't wish for better staff from the minute we arrived helpful friendly the best nicely presented breakfast I've ever had and according to my wife the best poached eggs!!!!! The room was spotless and we will most certainly be visiting again perfect choice to stay on our wedding road trip
Great place, very nice friendly staff. Fast service I had a fish finger sandwich which was excellent both in taste and presentation and for £4.49 was worth double !!
We really enjoyed our visit there. atmosphere was great food was great and the service was great. kids loved the food aswell. Me and my wife both had fish and chips which was surprised how fresh the fish was for the price. So overall that's why I'm giving 5*s

Love this place, nothing fancy decor wise, but has a comfortable feel about it, and they know how to pick good staff, who can be quite eccentric (!)but all adds to the experience.
Never had a bad meal, menu suits all budgets, what more can I add?

We had a Christmas lunch for my wife's birthday had a lovely meal they really treated our dog gave her a Christmas dinner treats on table and gave a present great staff I would highly recommend the castle inn we will be going back

I understand where its located and it's busy, also it's Sunday, however were in 2023 and I say this about every pub that does roasts, you should be prepared and not run out, same with mashed potato. However I had the beef and ale pie and it was lovely... Staff were excellent and friendly.
The staff are amazing, food is out of this world. One amazing chef in the kitchen both meals where perfect. Top service well recommended. Not even left the building yet but can praise this pub/restaurant.
Food very nice, however no check-back done by the waitress / server; wife’s peas were slightly underdone, but all in all I would go back. The Fish, Chips ‘n’ Mushy Peas that my Mum had looked fantastic - just like a chippy :)
Had lunch here on a day trip to the area, looking specifically for this place after seeing the menus of various pubs online first. This had the most reasonable prices of all of them and I really wanted the butternut squash, beetroot and spinach risotto! I wandered all round Bakewell and must have seen every pub going before I found the Castle Inn, which seemed to be more on the edge of town. It was worth the trawl around though, I absolutely loved the place. The staff were friendly, the toilets were clean and most importantly the risotto was fabulous! I only wish I lived nearer so that I could have it again.....
Only visited for a birthday treat of tea and cakes. All were excellent.
Handy for Harrogate centre. Visitors get free parking but guests have to pay. 🥴
Just home from a 2 night stay, honest review
ROOMS-They are what they are ROOMS over a pub clean and functional admittedly they could do with a freshen up its a little dated.The bed was a little hard but that's my personal opinion
STAFF-Friendly and helpful
FOOD-Breakfast was lovely lots of choice from cereals, yogurts,pastries and fruits to pancakes full English plus more included in the nights stay price brilliant value...We did have an evening meal one night and I can't complain a good pud meal.Good value
LOCATION-Amazing right in the centre and don't forget parking is included which is a brilliant bonus
Overall a good stay ,would definitely go back ( just time for a lick of paint)
Amazing service and amazing food - it was busy, which did put us off initially, but as castle was the only place serving food we went there and despite it being busy, the service and quality of food was so good. We would go again and definitely recommend!
Right in the centre of Bakewell, extremely good priced rooms. Very traditional Greene King atmosphere. Nice beer garden, pleasant staff and very respectable food
Had a great lunch here today, sat outside in sunshine. Could not fault the food will definitely be going back!!

Dinner here on Sunday, despite no roasts (it was early evening and other posts had indicated they run out) lovely food and atmosphere ensured we had a good evening
Very busy on Bakewell carnival day unfortunately the had missing delivery so half lunch menu was missing , but the food was good and service was great to say how busy they were , drinks were good

A welcoming place with good food and a good selection of beers. They offer 2 hr central town parking for being a customer which was very useful.
Nice pub, good food. Allows dogs and gave them treats and water.
Centrally located, but when we were there, understaffed and stressed but they did ok. Items on the menu were not available, and breakfast bacon and sausages were overcooked.
