Well what can I say about The Bistro? What a perfect place for lunch in Ayr. The ambiance was perfect, decor perfect for a small friendly bistro. I had the home made soup and it was delicious. My wife had the goats cheese salad and said it was also delicious. For our main course I had the local mussels in white wine sauce and my wife had the home made Mac & cheese. All our choices were perfect. I would highly recommend a visit the next time you are in Ayr.

Went here last night for dinner and we were very impressed. The restaurant is lovely and the food was just out of this world. Partner had the Cullen skink to start and i had the rabbit. Both were perfect, absolutely delicious. We both had the lamb main and this was just fantastic too. Sticky toffee pudding was also fab! All the food was cooked to perfection and I'm looking forward to my next visit already. Staff were also very pleasant and knowledgeable about the food and their recommendations were great. We'll done guys, keep up the great work.
After 6 cancelled flights and 16+ hours of flights and layovers, I needed a reason to live again. This food did it! We were able to get food after most other places had closed or were bar-only. This is a small place but has a good amount of seating. The bathrooms were very thoughtfully arranged and clean. The food was EASILY the best meal we had during our 5 days in Scotland, including our time in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly. The menu is sophisticated and varied. We found a lot to love and there were gluten free options. We considered going back the next evening but decided to give a neighboring place a chance, which turned out to be a mistake. Highly recommend.
I was visiting a friend who lives in Ayr & uses this restaurant on a regular basis. I hadn't eaten at this particular spot before & she said they done tasty food - she wasn't wrong. Our meals were really nice, served in a good timely manner, good portion sizes to fill us up, and staff were super friendly. Restaurant itself was all laid out well and clean and tidy etc. Look forward to going here again when I'm back in the nice area of Ayr.
We had an amazing meal! The experience from start to finish was just fantastic. Staff treated you as if you were the only people there even though the restaurant was full.
The food was delicious! Perfectly presented. Not to much to leave you feeling overly full but enough to keep you satisfied...... until you see the dessert menu!!! Could taste everything was fresh.

We went for a family dinner with our baby and had an amazing experience. There were some very interesting menu choices, the food was delicious and the service was very professional. The quality of food was excellent. The price for the quality of food can't be beaten anywhere else.
Our baby had a great time too, a high chair was provided and there was enough space for her pram. The staff were very accommodating, friendly and helpful. We are already planning another visit.
We had a really first class dinner here! The food was beautiful presented, tasted wonderful and the portions were generous. This chef really understands flavours! The two ladies who looked after front of house were also excellent. Thank you for a very memorable evening!
Amazingly tasty well prepared food every time I've been in the evening and excellent value for money for the quality, taste and portions served. Nice team as well. I take my mother every time I travel to Ayr to visit and more than once if I'm there a few days.
I'm not so keen on the lunchtime food though which I've been for a couple of times and it doesn't match the quality of the evening food so will rush back for the evening menu but wont be back for lunchtime food.
Out of my various reviews this one is the best 5\5 (for evening menu food) and I won't be surprised to see this place in the Michelin Guide in the near future if daytime food doesn't let it down. Keep it up. Best dinner in Ayr!
