Best Itison meal deal ever!
Bought the deal knowing we would be spending a couple of nights in Ayr. It was a shot in the dark for us as we knew nothing about The Waterfront.
The meal was fabulous. What value for money! The choice for a deal was really good and even included cocktails in the drink options.
We opted for the mushroom soup and the pate starters. Best mushroom soup I've tasted. Our mains were salmon and the Toulouse sausage cassoulet. Both were tasty, well cooked and well presented. The staff were lovely and very attentive. We really couldn't fault a thing. We live in Glasgow but we're planning a night in Ayr next month just to dine at The Waterfront again.
Great location and menu Im big fan will definitely be back again- had dinner here sat evening , loved the layout as well as the seperate pub area both areas played music which was at a great level , staff friendly and a great cocktail menu also - what’s not to like
Went on fair Monday, without having a reservation, and got a window table no bother, lots of people were sitting outside because it was such a beautiful night. We chose from the 2 courses and a drink for £12.95 menu. Not a massive choice, which is totally acceptable because of the price, however there was something on the menu for everyone to like. I had patè and my hubby had chicken with parma ham. Both dishes were beautiful, we cleared our plates. Main course for me was chicken stuffed with mushroom something, and veg etc, hubby had liver & onions, again, both dishes were absolutely delicious, and clean plates again. Nice, relaxed ambiance, and service was excellent, nice chatty, well mannered, and on the ball. We sat in the restaurant for easily 3 hours, and never at no time were we made to feel that we had to hurry, or were never under any pressure to give the table back. This was our second visit to the waterfront and would not hesitate to go back next time we are at Ayr. x
Excellent meal very well presented cocktails were a treat when down in Ayr again that’s where we will eat I should also add the staff were impressive as well
Was in this afternoon for afternoon tea with my granddaughter we both loved it staff were extremely nice The chocolate scone was amazing we followed it afterward with a drink from the bar the choc milkshake looked and tasted amazing would definitely go back
This place is fantastic! I've never had a bad meal in here and every time I go there's always something new or different on the menu that I love! Was in today with my grandparents for my birthday lunch we enjoyed everything. Clean plates all round as per usual .
Just enjoyed a lovely lunch, menu is superb and staff were very friendly and helpful, sticky toffee pudding to die for!!!
First time I have been here.
Went with a friend for lunch, used the Itison voucher..
Good service,friendly staff.
Food was lovely..
Views from the restaurant ,are gorgeous would be even better on a sunny day..
Lovely clean restuarant..
Definitely worth an other visit...
Went here for birthday dinner. A short 15 min wait at bar then table ready. Had soup chicken and knicker bocker glory. Beautiful. Defo recommend it. Staff nice too. Even got a cushion for my back. Defo worth a visit
Do not go here, it is terrible.
You will leave with money in your pocket, after an evening of not talking to your dinner partner and for the following week everything you eat will be disgusting.........
Somebody should really do something about this place. Maybe put a law that makes them illegal or something.
Staff were friendly and helpful food was superb freshly cooked hot and delicious would recommend it to anyone
First time I’ve been in the waterfront but won’t be the last time food great and staff couldn’t do enough for you 5*****
Great food, great service. First visit due to an itison deal but menu looked reasonably priced. Definitely value for money. Will be back and would recommend to others
Good food and good service. The hot ginger barman is motivation enough to return! Yum.
Excellent service and food to match. We turned up on a bank holiday having not booked a table. Although the manager said unfortunately they were fully booked, they managed to fit us in on an outside table. Actually you could argue that these were the best seats in the house anyway, looking out to the harbour. We had a fantastic main course and starter but couldn't quite manage a desert. However the ladies working surprised us and our 2 year old, who's birthday it was, with a lovely presented plate with cake and a happy birthday banner on. Once again thank you for a fantastic meal and the wonderful service
Went for Sunday lunch with kids. Was absolutely amazing food. And the kids menu was a great selection of proper food. Sticky toffee pudding for dessert was particularly good. Got to the end and was pleasantly surprised by the bill. So overall hugely recommend. Perfect.
Visited here on a Monday night with my mum and granddaughter and so glad we reserved a table. We booked for 7pm and it was not too long before the restaurant was full. The service was friendly and helpful. The food was amazing, we got the starters and mains and my granddaughter got fresh fish goujons and chips, fresh fruit with chocolate dip, so good to get fresh kids meals instead of the usual frozen meals offered elsewhere. I would definitely go back if I was in the area as all food was so delicious.
I loved the fact that I could have dinner in the sunny terrace, with a view to the river and the sea. Waitresses are really nice and smiling.
Starter was perfect (blend of sea food) as for flavours and size. Even bread was delicious.
However, the main course was a classic burger that had quite dry meat and it lacks sauces and flavour... I was disappointed. Still I like it and recommend it especially when sun is here ;)
Food was amazing. Great views and staff very friendly and attentive. Will defo be back.
Most pleasant visit to Waterfront at Ayr, sunny evening, so sat outside, tried the some Scallops and Mixed Fish Platter as no mussels available, followed by Sea Bream and a Fish and Chips, service ok, could have sold more if they just asked! Lovely setting and looks like it gets busy....thanks
Friendly welcome. Pleasant surroundings and terrific food. Lovely views across the river. Highly recommend for the food the desserts are to die for. Not to mention dog friendly with water and biscuits provided.
We had a impromptu call in for a refreshing drink. The waitresses were very polite and knowledgeable and we were quickly sorted with drinks overlooking the River.
Our dogs hadn't been fed and when we suggested we had to leave, the helpful waitresses said they had a dog menu! So we had a couple more drinks and the dogs were happy with their meals..
Would recommend this place to anyone wanting a good drink in a relaxed atmosphere with great staff.
Really enjoyed the restaurant. Good food and friendly staff.
We had dinner on Monday 14th may and we were served by Rebeca and the manager. They have been nothing but knowledgeable and delightful; the food was just amazing, portions more than fair and the price super competitive! The place itself is very pleasant and they are clever enough to choose good music and to play it at a normal volume so that it doesn’t discourage conversation (not all places do the same unfortunately). Great value for money, will definitely be back next time we are in Ayr!
