We went for lunch. The inn was cosy and inviting and a very warm welcome from Simona. My husband and I had a wonderful meal; I had smoked haddock for a starter (one of the nicest meals I've ever had; fish was cooked to perfection, divine dressing and the whole dish was delicious!) For main course I had the pork with black pudding, apple, walnut & cider. Pork & black pudding were 'melt-in-the-mouth delicious and the vegetables cooked perfectly. I tried some of the Ox Cheek with smoked mash, oxtail sauce and kale too and also delicious! The locally sourced and home grown food was clearly cooked with respect & skill (Thank you Andy & kitchen crew). The whole meal was stunning and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Will definitely be back. Thank you :-)
Had lunch here using a groupon voucher. Choice and quality of food excellent. Waiting staff friendly and helpful. Highly recommend. Just a shame it's not that bit nearer.
Stayed last night at the Riverside Inn the room was beautifuly decorated and comfortable with everything we needed. The evening meal was delicious and staff were very attentive. We will definitely stay again.
Very friendly polite staff, food was exquisite..room was clean and very comfortable ..Would highly recommend to stay and/or eat here.. Only downside was the wifi was very poor, and you can't get a signal on Vodaphone or Virgin apart from that ... First class.
Met up midway between Shrewsbury and Forest of Dean for a birthday lunch. Welcoming Inn, friendly, excellent food and great atmosphere. Lovely wood fire. Good selection of food and drinks. Will be back.

We had dinner here on the last day of our holiday yesterday and the food was superb. The staff were very friendly and efficient. They even made our French Bulldog very welcome with her own towel to sit on and a bowl of water and a dog biscuit for good behaviour. Will certainly go again

We had Sunday lunch here yesterday. Food was lovely, staff were friendly and helpful and the place is charming. We took our dog along with us and she was well accommodated for. Highly recommend a stop here
This visit was foodie heaven. Golden shefs are in that kitchen. The food was to die for. The owner was so warm and we were allowed to take our dog there. Incredible pub. Must visit. Don't forget to have a look on their beautifull garden. I would give them 7 stars. Thank you.

We ate there as a group of eight on a Friday evening. Very nicely laid out place with a great interior and tasteful decor. Waiting staff were all really nice and attentive and knew the menu inside out. Myself and my partner were really happy to see they had a vegetarian/vegan option for main and starter and also three other plant based options on request. They happily veganised some side vegatable options we ordered for the group table and nothing was made to feel like an extra chore. Everyone else was happy with their meat dishes so thumbs up all round. Portions were very generous and all the food was local fresh and very delicious. Top marks and many thanks. Would definitely recommend and return again if in the area in the future.
We had the most incredible Sunday lunch here. It blew our expectations for a pleasant meal out of the water. Everything so lovingly and beautifully presented, and we could really tell how much care and pride is taken by the staff. The flavours were really quite incredible.
Any small queries or issues we had were immediately dealt with and solved with style. We sat in the garden surrounded by lupin flowers and other beautiful greenery.
Absolute gem of a place and I’m almost reluctant to review it but it was too wonderful not to.
Very much enjoyed a three night stay here - beautiful old pub in a lovely setting with gardens and walks to explore on the doorstep. George and team make sure that the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, the food, both at dinner and breakfast, is superb - local produce expertly cooked and beautifully presented, we were really impressed! Thanks for a great stay - we look forward to returning in the future!

Having recently moved to the area we took my elderly father out for a meal. Super attentive staff, great beer and food to die for…. The pork dish I had was one of the best dishes I’ve had for years (and I’ve been to quite a few Michelin restaurants!)
Set next to the river, this restaurant is in a lovely setting. Food and service was first class. Staff very friendly and really helpful with allergies/intolerance. Highly recommend a visit.
This was one of the best meals I've ever enjoyed. The quality of the food and cooking was exceptional and the service warm. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for excellent British cooking and I'd go back again in a heartbeat.
This has fast become my family's favourite place to celebrate special occasions. It's expensive, but I'd rather go there once a year than to a cheaper place twice. It's exciting to see what the seasonal, locally-sourced menu has on offer, and the chefs never disappoint. The last time we went, the head chef was actually away, but you really couldn't tell. The environment has a nice ambience and the staff are friendly and attentive. I learned this time that they even stock non-alcoholic cider, which was a nice surprise. I honestly can't think of any reasonable constructive criticisms.
Utterly brilliant. The food is excellent (Michelin-worthy); the service is spot-on; dog-friendly (genuinely so).
We will be back!!
Have wined and dined here over the past 20 years. Always an interesting menu, well prepared and presented meals, friendly staff etc. Remains one of our favourites for celebration meals.
Parking is at a premium, especially since electric charging points were installed.
Honestly, one of the best meals I've ever had in my life. Absolutely stunning. The only reason for leaving 4 stars is both the cucumber and courgette starter was outrageously tiny. £9 for a spaced out plate of sliced courgette, I think there could have been some bread with it. Gorgeous place, though.
