An attractive little Greene King pub tucked away under the shadow of the motorway. We popped in for some lunch after visiting some of the local sights, and decided on some light bites. I got the BLT baguette and some chicken wings, both are very reasonably priced for what you get. The wings had a nice batter on them and had a kick of heat too which is right up my street. The BLT was just right, and well balanced. Good selection of beers on offer too and staff were friendly!

Had a lovely afternoon wake here. The staff were very friendly and the finger buffet laid on was just right. Ample parking. Large veranda seating area. Great value for money. Highly recommend.

Good well kept beer, friendly and professional staff, lovely traditional pub setting with outdoor areas, great food - recommend booking your Sunday roast in advance. In fact, I'd book your table and prebook your choice of roast!

Was a last minute lunch booking and was not disappointed. The staff are lovely the location a little odd but pretty despite being a lorry stopover and behind Bluebell Hill on approach to m20. The food was good. Highly recommend the baked camembert (though order extra bread) and the steak burger is a winner. Couldn't fit desert in. The calamari was cooked perfectly and the whitebait. The chilli crispy beef though good had no chilli. Definitely visit again.

I travel often for work and as it tends to come out of my bottom line I have to find somewhere thats got everything I need whilst also being extremely affordable. Fortunately for me, The Lower Bell was both. In most situations the bare minimum is a clean room and a bed and that is exactly what I got. Being a solo traveller I dont need a massive room so plumped for the single room (as it turned out Room No 1). Not only did I get exactly what I needed, but also was pleasantly surprised to discover a heated towel rail and a pretty decent tele. That heated rail was worth its weight in gold as I had just ridden my motorbike through a storm to get there! Also I turned up a tad later then planned and the kitchen had closed. However the brilliant team behind the bar (Kate and Lynn) where terribly kind enough to offer me the pizza menu and sorted me something out. Before I knew it, I was sinking a couple of pints while talking with some pretty friendly locals. My only regret was that I couldnt go and chat to them more on the second night I was staying as I had prearranged to meet someone. Suffice to say that if I am back in this neck of the woods I will be popping my head in again to say hi!

Many thanks to the staff and friendly customers who made myself and my wife very welcome this afternoon after our (new) car broke down again. Four hour wait for a "recovery" vehicle which couldn't recover, only move from the dangerous location, beside the A229! Also thanks due to Streamline taxis who were prompt.

Lovely pub, with a great garden. Very accommodating for dogs as well. With grassy areas and dog bowls and treats available at the bar

Great value food. We had baked camenbert with bruschetta. Simply but nice. The Sunday roast on the next table looked excellent. Will return for that another day.

My daughter hosted her 21st birthday party here. Great venue for a party, service was spot on and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The landlord was extremely helpful. The staff even decorated the pub for us using the decorations I had provided. The party really made my daughters birthday, couldn’t recommend the Lower Bell enough for an event. Thanks so much to all the staff and welcoming landlord. We will be back again.

Sadly, it was just a pit stop whilst exploring the local megalithic sites, it seems nice enough.

Good value. Pizza only, but much better pizzas these days! Not for everybody, but a go to for me. When I was running, a run to the fields, to the top of the world with amazing views, and then back for well priced beer!

Called up last minute due to a hiccup on our original booking elsewhere, considering it was last minute the staff at the lower bell was able to accommodate and provide a table booking for 2, we had a roast which was very nice. Staff was very courteous, friendly and welcoming, the dining area was clean and other guests was respectful. I would highly recommend, can't remember the 2 girls that served us but thank you for the service.

Food was amazing! I had lamb roast, which was a whole shank cooked to perfection. I also had sticky toffee pudding. The young girl who served us could not be any more welcoming or friendly. Added bonus is the dog friendly garden.

Visited on a Monday just after lunch. Not busy and plenty of parking. Friendly bar staff. Looks like Sunday roast is popular and a bouncy castle gor children at weekends. Food prices for snacks...£4 for BBQ chicken wings. All pizzas £10.

Food was tasty and staff helpful and pleasant. We had our mum's wake here too and the buffet was very good and they provided 'one of the best vegan buffets we've ever tasted' for my daughter and her partner. Will be back again. Thank you everyone for a wonderful afternoon.
