A very charming, very old pub with excellent food and service. We were welcomed by the barman, who was very friendly and cordial. I asked about their ciders and was promptly given samples of the two on tap. Both were nice, but I preferred the Rosie's Pig rhubarb. We both had the vegan lentil burger with chunky fries and side salad. Unlike most pubs we've visited, these seemed to be homemade on location rather than a frozen commercial patty, and they were quite good, as were the chips. The place was quiet while we were there, and offers several distinct seating areas, including a secluded courtyard, tables outside in front, and several different areas with both high and low tables inside. Adding to the homey touches provided by the photos and paintings of the area at various times in history were a box of games to play while you were there and a box of neatly-folded blankets with a sign encouraging you to borrow one if you were cold. I found this a particularly nice touch. There is also at least one fireplace with a supply of logs. Toilets were very clean, as was the rest of the pub. Very much enjoyed the time we spent there. Recommended!
Very nice pub, good vegan food and great service. There's nice extras like a cupboard full of games to play with and blankets you can use, in the garden, if you get cold. The staff couldn't be more helpful, nice and cheerful. I dont normally feel very relaxed in new pubs but i loved it in here and could have stayed all day. It has a really nice, laid-back and relaxed atmosphere.
Lunch with bestie, excellent as usual. We both had the gammon, egg and chips, delicious 😋 Several visits later and the food is still delicious. This time there was a group of us who all enjoyed sitting out in the courtyard garden with our food.
This is one of my preferred venues to head out into town with my partner. There's a great selection of drinks and we are often lucky enough to find live music being performed.
Great little pub, look out for some top bands, as this place is doing its best to keep live music going. Great night out.
I have changed my review. A few years back now I gave this pub 2 stars because of my experience there, BUT I went there last night and now I will give it 4 stars. I really liked it in there now, it could be different management I'm not sure. A good selection of beer and the bar staff are very friendly (one of them was very beautiful ssshhh) anyway I will definitely go back.
Warm & friendly staff and owners. Pleasant atmosphere and a great place for a decent poor at a good price. Great value for money.
Great local pub with a good selection of beer and a menu of good food.
Fantastic!
After several attempts to find a dog friendly place , we came across this place ... What a lovely welcome and service, great chips and choice of music ... We will be back for a pint later 😘
Pleasant pub. Helpful staff. A bit expensive but probably worth it.
Best and our favourite pub in Aylesbury. Buckinghamshire! Good selection of drinks, food too, super friendly staff, cosy, and excellent selection of crisps!
Good pint of Heineken, decent Sauvignon Blanc.
The young lady who served me was polite and friendly and made this a five star experience.
Lovely warm traditional pub with a good selection of ales that change so you don't get bored. Stuff welcome you in and are very friendly...
Popped in yesterday for lunch (30th May) on a nostalgic trip to the town of my birth 73 years ago..Delightful service from the two girls on duty, food was superb and great value..Oh yeah, good playlist too 😉 Highly recomend
2 of us had lunch here on a Saturday. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was good.
Stopped here on work, nice little pub, really nice food too to be fair. Limited menu but the burger was pretty good! Nice staff, friendly and laid back (and kinda cute). Let me in a little earlier so I could sit down with laptop and work... So yeah. Nice
Beautiful, lovely pub, staff friendly & welcoming. Dog friendly which was a win win for us
