The best pub in the Aylesbury area for real craft beer. Staff are the best I have come across, friendly and knowledgeable. And the food, the best Sunday roast around get in early because when it's gone it's gone. Not to mention all the other food available through the week. You will not get better. 5 stars is not enough to sum this gem up

Had Sunday lunch yesterday with 7 good friends for my husbands Birthday. We all loved the meal, everything was fresh, hot and tasted fantastic. Eight clean plates left at the end. Thank you to the chef and friendly staff who made my husbands treat enjoyable. Definitely be going there again.

Had a lush Sunday roast yesterday. Great choice of lamb, beef or chicken, with great roasties, brilliant yorkie and the best cooked veg I have ever had with a roast. We then shared a fab chocolate brownie and vanilla ice cream that was to die for! And so reasonably priced as well. We will be back, why can't it be Sunday today!

Lovely meal as always. Went to Miller & Carter paid 3 times the price for a meal that wasn't half as good.

Worked our way along the pumps, halves of course just like a beer festival. Good range from traditional IPAs to American IPA, regular bitters and a stout. Not to mention the Belgian draught Tripel at 8.4%. All sensibly priced and well kept. In the GBG on merit.

I organised a surprise 60th birthday party here for my brother for about 25 people. They have a lovely separate back function room with a curtain so this was easy to do. Ian the manager and his team arranged an excellent buffet, great food and good value. I was allowed to do some decorations and balloons and lots of embarrassing photos. I was also allowed to supply my own cake which was hidden away until needed. My brother had a brilliant night and against all odds it was a a surprise. Thank you Hop Pole we had a brilliant time. One of my locals. Staff are always friendly, local seasonal ales. Great pub food, along with regular pop-up kitchens including Thai and Caribbean. Only tried the pub/Thai foods but both were excellent with good portion sizes.

Honest British pub, excellent range of ales on offer, all of them are exceptionally well kept by the landlord. If you like beer, then there is no better pub in Aylesbury.

Good range of cask ales, including a selection from Vale brewery and a couple from the on site brewery. On site brewery no longer operates. A larger range of guest ales now available. Usually an even split between Vale and guest ales these days, mostly rate offerings. Also a good range of Belgian bottled beers

This is my local and my regular. The beer is good, wide range of real ale, including from the micro brewery, and good range of continental bottles as well as lagers (and unfortunately Carlsberg, which isn't the landlord's choice). Also a wide range of spirits, rather than just bog standard pub ones. The food is fantastic, especially the burgers. Sunday is a really good roast with 3 different meats. Quiz on Tuesdays, with a possible top prize of £200, as well as beer tokens. Regular gigs which are worth going to, vinyl night occasional Sunday, and a beer festival 3 times a year. Staff happy to help with beer selection, and if they can't help you some of us regulars more than happy to stick our two pence worth in!

Fairly quiet when we visited on a Sat afternoon. Attentive landlord served us some nice Vale beers, and a really nice meal. I have used this pub prior to Covid-19 many times before, and is my goto pub in Aylesbury. Covid Safety was taken seriously, and both my wife and I felt perfectly safe. Thank you.
