The Castle Inn Axminster - Axminster - Photo album

We were warmly welcomed by Sharon and Paul into their traditional pub, a great start particularly after the wet miserable weather outside. The menu had such variety and catered for everyone. We had curried parsnip soup and whitebait then I had Moussaka and hubby had hunters’ chicken - both deliciou
Amazing gluten free menu with great hosts. From roast dinner on a Sunday only precooked with your meat order. To every day a very good variety on the menu. Amazing home made gluten free apple and blackberry crumble mmmmmmmmm. Thank you both for your great service 👍
We searched online for somewhere to have lunch in Axminster. The Castle Inn revealed it had 4.5 out of 5. We were not disappointed. The pub was quiet, but we had arrived just after meals were starting to be served. We were invited to choose a table in the restaurant. We were provided with the day bo
Me and my partner visited here for the first time today whilst on holiday. Such a homely pub serving great comfort food. The owners are so friendly and welcoming, going above and beyond to cater for their guests. The only downfall is that you aren’t closer to Birmingham, otherwise we would be regula
Nice friendly Inn on side street of axminster, plenty of seating inside and outside, nice little garden, out front tables and chairs to sit and watch the world go by, we didn't have food but menu looked good and smelt nice, friendly welcoming staff and nice atmosphere, TV to watch sports or board ga
Welcomed immediately. Table service, good beer, nice waitress (in the nicest possible way) and really nice food. Never been there before but going back at the weekend for a roast. Loverly grub !
Stopped off on the way home from holiday. The Castle Inn was the only pub doing all day food off the A35 and we had 3 very hungry kids. The owners were very welcoming and child friendly. We ordered pie and chips, steak, lasagna and chicken balls. Every meal was delicious! We cleaned our plates and e
Stumbled across the castle inn on Monday and found it to welcoming and friendly. Had food that night all freshly cooked. And since we've been back 3 nights this week as working in chard. Would recommend this pub well worth a visit.
Have eaten here before and, again, wasn't disappointed. Had lasagne but asked for chips instead of garlic bread. Wasn't an issue. It was delicious. Considered a dessert but too full
Found this pub on the camra website and thought we should give it a try. Lovely friendly welcome. Huge variety of proper home prepared and cooked food. Highly recommended. Will be back
We picked this place for a lunch meeting with friends. The food was good and freshly cooked. We ate in the bar because we had a dog with us, so the surroundings were quite basic. Beer was good.
Great to see a local boozer busy on a Tuesday afternoon
This is always a lovely experience in so many ways! Vast menu choices, friendly owners that go out off their way to accommodate your every need.
Fantastic to see that they do food from 1200 to 2100. Seemed like a good back to basic menu with a great theme for Good Friday. Very welcoming landlady. We wish them all the best as they seem to be trying very hard.
Fabulous Food we have had the best homemade Steak pies ever. Filled to the brim with succulent meat, and the lightest of pastry. Lovely atmosphere, superb service. Great start to our weekend away. 👌😊 Happy Christmas and all the very best to the owners. .
Stopped here for a nice evening meal whilst away for a friend's wedding. Handy parking outside the venue. Staff are beyond lovely and the food was incredible. Great variety of food, all home cooked and fresh and fantastic value for money. If in Axminster again would definitely pop back. Thank you.
Family meet up half way between us for New Year. We were all warmly welcomed, especially our dog and had the most charming and fab service throughout our stay. Wholesome, genuine food and drink served with humour to boot. You're making such a good go of your new establishment, keep going!
The castle is welcoming and friendly. As a vegetarian and vegan we weren't expecting many options in axminster but the owners had so many options to eat. As they make everything fresh, they were happy to alter dishes for us if we wanted as well, they also cater for gluten free customers. To drink, t
Went with friends to the Castle Inn, to watch Wales v England rugby. We were welcomed and well looked after. We ended up staying for some great food and cocktails. Fun evening including the walk back up the hill to Kilmington!
