Your first reaction coming here will be “holy *** I think I went down a wrong road” as it’s located in an industrial estate with car mechanics but the actual restaurant is clean, well decorated and you’ll be greeted by the owner who’s friendly as pie.
The food was amazing, I would have liked a little more salt but each to their own, the flavours and herbs however… wow. You can tell there’s a pro in the kitchen.
We ordered the rogan Josh, masala, bhuna, biryani - all highly recommended.
Also it was super affordable and they didn’t even add service charge, so it’s optional (and fully deserved if you have cash!)
I came across this little oasis today and I wish it was my local Indian restaurant! It’s a lovely little restaurant hidden away, with a nice seating area outside and a well presented restaurant for dining in. Very clean with a warm atmosphere. The owner and his family were very hospitable, welcoming and generous, I cannot rate them highly enough. Such nice people. The food was delicious and very tasty! Thanks again, it was lovely to meet you. I’ll be sure to come back:)

It has been a few years since we have had Indian food from Safar. I was very impressed and the food was absolutely delicious, we were very hungry and there was plenty. The staff are delightful, friendly and always remember us. I thoroughly recommend this restaurant yo eat in or take away. 🙏 thank you
Take away ordered online. Set meal for 3. Delivered faster than expected. It was a HUGE meal for 3. No way could we manage it all, so that's tomorrow's dinner sorted too.

Wonderful restaurant. My favourite in the area & always eat here when I visit. Choices wide & varied. Lots of veggie options. My veggie Korai tasty, hot/spicy with great flavours. Service excellent efficient but unobtrusive. Pricey but worth treating yourself.
Slightly odd location in an industrial estate, but it's actually really nice inside. The food was very good as was the service, so absolutely nothing of any note to complain about. I'd certainly go there again.
Great food, pleasant decor and staff, although we were ignored a couple of times due to staff being distracted by friends.
There are plenty of vegetarian options, but vegan options are not listed, although requesting dishes without gee and eggs could be managed. It was as if there had been no consideration for this rising dietary choice. A local competitor has done better for Vegans.
Nevertheless, Safar is definitely worth a return visit.

Visited by chance while on holiday. What a super restaurant. All staff are so attentive and really go the extra mile. The food was the best Indian we have had and we will definitely go there again before we return home. Loved the elephant outside. Thanks to you all.
Very smart establishment with pleasant atmosphere, managed by the owner, who was very friendly. We reserved a table for 4 at short notice and were lucky to get the last table. The menu is impressive and there is a good choice of vegetarian and vegan options, but care should be taken to ensure that your order is understood, as we did experience a few errors in what arrived at the table, hence 4 stars.

Staying in Lyme Regis. Ordered a meal on line Sunday for delivery at 22.00. Food arrived bang on time and what a pleasant and cheerful delivery driver. Food piping hot, a really tasty and quality curry and not over priced. Will definitely use again and certainly recommend. Well deserved 5 stars.
Great place and authentic indian restaurant. The staff are very friendly. We asked them if the could suggest a spicy dish and the chef made one just perfectly. It was my birthday and they surprised me with a cake. I had a good time and will definitely visit again. Loved the ambiance the staff and the food.
