I love steak pie and can be quite critical but I just want to say I had the best steak and mushroom pie I have ever eaten (and I've eaten loads). I could not recommend it highly enough.

Everything was wonderful. Caillie beer was delicious. The haddock soup with scotch egg was a first but was fantastic. Loved the beef and mushroom pie too but needed more mushrooms. The special was monk fish Cajun style. Husband like it bit spices were not distributed evenly so some pieces were spicier than others. All in all a great place!

Great spot to park the motorhome in the middle of Aviemore and a great place to eat. The restaurant was warm, the staff were friendly, the food was great and at a reasonable price for the resort.

We had a wonderful birthday meal last night with our two children. One has multiple food allergies so prebooked. The manager on phone was very obliging and knowledgable and when we arrived all staff were aware. Can’t thank the chef enough for accommodating and all the staff for their great service and friendliness. We will definitely be back and recommending to friends

We come for years now and it is definitely the best place in town, especially since the Cairngorm Brewery took it over. The food is very delicious and special requirements are not a problem. The staff is very friendly and nice and always there if you need anything. And by the way: six real ale on tap, a wide range of bottled beers and a good range of whisky is more than you need in one evening It always is like coming home, especially because we always get our table at the window (thanks Morag for everything ).

Stopped there from our way back from Aviemore and had beers . The one I had was Cairngorm Gold. Good interiors and plenty of outdoor seating area which you can enjoy on a dry day. The entrance to the pub was a bit confusing as there are two. If you climb up the stairs it takes you to the restaurant. And the rather back door entrance is to the bar and beer garden. Overall a good pub and for a quick stopover if you are in that area

The food here was very good and the portions were large. We got the chicken burger and the beef roast. The roast was massive and perfectly cooked and the chicken was charred just the right amount. The only thing I wasn't amazed with was the golden margarita, but they have plenty of good beers and other drinks to choose from.

Food was seriously, genuinely lovely. The haggis was another level, and for someone who doesn't eat or even entertain the idea of mashed potato, this dish was fantastic. Beers were great and from the local brewery too. Dessert was very good. The only minor let down was waiting time between main and pud, but that is me being overly critical! Overall, a great experience and would definitely go back if I find myself in the area again!

Such a great place. The bothy bar downstairs has live music on Fridays and Saturdays and has a real bothy vibe. The staff are incredibly friendly. Great selection of well kept and pulled local real ale. We didn't eat but the food looked good. We stopped in for a few drinks on a night they were incredibly busy and they should be praised for how they handed it. They were all rushed off their feet but still gave everyone a great experience, and discounts off food if late etc. Highly recommend.

Lovely food again. I had the steak & gold ale pie. My partner had the cajun chicken burger. The dog was spoilt with a doggie roast. Good service & would recommend. We have been here multiple times already

Stopped off for a munch and a few beers. Unfortunately kitchen was closed early. Headed to bothy for drinks. Large car park. Decent range of beers. Happy to see Cairgorm brewery lager on offer. Nice lager. Under used grassed area.

No food on this occasion, just drinks. No atmosphere as such, just a few watching the Manchester cup final and everyone was outside enjoying the 18°C + heat in the 🌞😎🫶 the Birra Moretti was chilled perfection 🤤👌 good service and well worth a visit when in or passing through Aviemore.

Had a good dinner here. Food was lovely can't fault it in the slightest...maybe more basic vegetarian food could be served for variety? Other than that it was a nice place for a bite to eat. Table wasn't cleaned properly but it was busier at the time...cleaned it myself. So will let that slip as the food was good.

After two trips and lots of eating in Aviemore, I think I’m confident to say that this is the best food and restaurant experience in town. It’s homey and quiet but lively too. It’s got well placed windows for awesome views of the hills. Good selection of food and drinks and nice staff. Very good gluten free options as well.

Food was lovely. Visited with 2 huskies and the staff were friendly and gave the dogs a roast dinner! Even the other customers gave the boys lots of cuddles!

A good place to stop for food and drinks. We pulled in here for a late lunch on a road trip, the staff were friendly and even gave helpful travelling advice for our onward journey. I ordered the chicken caesar salad, I had to pay a suppler for the chicken but it was tasty. Others had the haggis neeps and tatties which were also very good. Seemed like a nice place to hang out and drink too if you’re not driving!

Went in for dinner after being either turned away or quoted an unreasonably long wait at other restaurants in town. Upon arrival, we were quoted a 90 minute wait, but Liam, the incredibly charming bartender managed to get us a table in only 10 minutes. To say the food was sublime would be an immense understatement. The first bite of the steak and black gold pie had my eyes rolling back in my head from the sheer pleasure, and every bite that followed continued to impress. We ended up coming back for an afternoon drink the next day to say goodbye to Liam before continuing on our trip. We will definitely have to come back if we ever get the chance.

The Sunday Roast was probably the best meal we had during our week in Aviemore. The place was busy so the staff were moving quickly. Like most places in Aviemore you need to book a table or you may be turned away.

Food was excellent. Beer and service spot on. We even had a small choking emergency with one of our more elderly of our party and the staff were fantastic. Paramedics came out to make sure all was well. Cant thank the staff enough. The lady in question was fine and fully recovered by the evening.

Honestly, we've been here every year for the last 4-5 years. Last year was a bit hit and miss with the food but this year it is excellent. Properly excellent. We had bruschetta, a Cajun burger and the kids goujons meal. All well cooked, all delicious and all fairly priced. Staff were great, good banter, built rapport with us. Only minor point would be the lack of non alcoholic options drinks wise. There's plenty of soft drinks but quite limited regards alcohol replacement type drinks. Will definitely be back again next year.

Food was good. Typical pub grub but nothing wrong with that. Dog friendly and very friendly waitress. Plenty of car parking space at front which is a bonus as Aviemore can be pretty busy
