A very nice thatched roof country pub on the outskirts of Tamworth.
I opted for a rather unusual gooseberry ale and was rather pleased with it. I had a look at the menu and thought I will return and edit this review.
The beer is very well looked after, and always there is a good choice - bit of a trip for us but we never regret it. Food I had was excellent. Why then it was very quiet on a Friday lunch time when pub chains serving heated up second rate food can get busy. Recently won an award and well deserved
The Bird in Hand is a great looking pub from the outside, and in, especially cosy when visiting in the colder months with a lovely fire burning.
Food/drink was very nice, but I do find it a little on the expensive side for a country pub, but having said that it is well worth the visit.
Staff are friendly and extremely helpful.
What Britian needs a real pub with real beer and an atmosphere that is as calming as welcoming. Next thing on the list is food,if its as good as the pub I'm in for a treat!
Easy to find, nice destination pub. Food was excellent. Fish and chips and a Cajun Chicken Burger. Ample portions. Great set-up and attentive staff. Ralph was a delight.
This is a gem of a public house in a wonderful village. A real village feel to the pub with friendly staff who helped you when asked.
I'd fully recommend a visit
