Had a great evening in the shroppie. Good food very reasonably priced. We had a small portion. That was more than enough for us. Nice choice of drinks. We were made to feel welcome by staff and locals. Very enjoyable experience.

Lovely find off the main road and right on the canal. I had a very tasty veggy lasagna and they supplied extra child when I asked. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Really friendly people, great service. Food was lovely, gave 4 stars because of the vegetables, they purchased frozen vegetables.

We were in the area & decided to carry on to Audlam for a walk by the canal (Fri29th). 1st visited Audlum on our 1st canal holiday in 2022 outstanding village. To our surprise "The Shroppie" has re-opened! Great Atmosphere warm welcome, good food, value for money, friendly staff. We couldn't have choose a better day to visit, turned out be the weekend for The gathering of Historic boats & on Sunday was Audlum Festival of Transport, so we returned for that also. Outstanding atmosphere! Highly recommend a visit👍

Great that this canalside gem is back in business and serving a good selection of beer. Sitting outside at the tables with a nice pint watching the boats and boaters is the perfect way to while away a few hours. The interior is also welcoming with lot of old local boating pictures.

Great meal with parents. Very tasty food and friendly staff. So good in fact, that my dad and I snuck back in the next day for some more whitebait. Thank you to the staff. You were very helpful and understanding.

Busy pub with plenty of atmosphere. Very friendly staff and the food is excellent. Right on the side of the canal with a seating area outside. I would recommend booking a table to avoid disappointment Great choice of beers both local as well as from North Yorkshire. Check the website for entertainment and events. Can recommend the fish and chips.

We went for a short walk down the wharf, we got so far then my 11 year old reached bord moaning phase. Thankfully I was saved, there was a narrow boat coming along we was offered a quick explanation of the workings of the locks and saw how they worked, then Kai was offered a ride in narrowboat, then got to go in the lock on a boat, saw how quickly it rose as the water was released into the lock, it was a good experience for him and I'm most greatfull to the couple who were willing to spend the time talking to us, by this time we were ready for some lunch. We nipped into the Shopphie, the bar appear to be the hull of a boat, cool!!The food was spot on and we were in in comfortable surroundings, I had stake and ale pie with chucky chip, gorgeous even the vegetables was cooked to perfection. My boy had fish and chips, but chose cheesey chips, this wasnt an issue and went down very well, hubby had the same as me. It wasn't cheap but they were large quality meals in my opinion.

A mediocre food pub made amazing by the most fabulous staff we've ever met. They all went above and beyond in their own way. From the Antihistamines provided to the friendly restaurant servers, we loved it and will definitely back again if we're in the area. 😀

Lovely canalside pub. We were moored up down the canal a little so managed to get to the pub both nights. Very friendly staff and lovely food. The Steak & Ale Pie was really nice and the Shropshire Gold was well kept.

The staff & owners are absolutely lovely here ! They were about if needed without being intrusive, with good banter too. The food was first class, wasn't a thing we didn't like (for a picky eater that's hard to do lol). Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his Shroppie Gold. We will definitely be back again !

Booked into here with our dog. Staff were lovely and the pub is dog friendly which is a massive bonus. Food was delicious, really enjoyed the steak and ale pie and they had a good selection of nice cold drinks. Would definitely recommend coming here, even for a pint if you're on the canal.
