Made very welcome from the moment we checked in, good service at the bar, delicious food albeit massive portions, comfy bed, quiet room, the breakfast was first class - even the black pudding was hot which is a first as normally just warm, all in all, a fantastic place.

Excellent Hotel! Felt very welcome as we checked in....the family running the hotel were friendly and service at the bar was great! Even though locals were sat at the bar...as soon as walked up got served! The restaurant food was excellent...all cooked from fresh would recommend to dine there on an evening. The girls waiting on were friendly too...and happy to chat and gave excellent service. Breakfast was filling too...and all piping hot...cooked to order. Hotel decor is oldy worldy feel...but everything spotlessly clean. Our only comment is bed and pillows not 100% comfort...pillows were hard! And double bed was twin put together. Excellent Location in Askrigg and worth doing the Mill Gill walk and seeing the Waterfall.

It's a decant enough place usually , our food was good but others not in our party had a along wait after ordering only to be told what they ordered was sold out, dining room lacked atmosphere and a bit chilly on this occasion.

We have just returned from two night stay with our dog. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely village location, enjoyed some lovely walks and superb drives over the moors from here. We had breakfast and evening meals, both which were excellent . The pub has a lovely outside space and there was a good mix of locals and guests. Great value would recommend.

Excellent base for walking, good food and reasonable prices. Well managed hotel amid the current crisis. Helpful staff and the bar has a good range of local ale. Dog friendly and no fuss about anything just what we like.!

Went there for dinner. Friendly greeting. Can't complain about its setting in a beautiful village. Our waitress was excellent. My wife picked a vegetarian starter with chips as she wasn't very hungry. I had the mussels starter and Salmon as a main course. The main was as good as the starter was bad. Many of the mussels hadn't opened and they weren't particularly hot. If the Salmon hadn't saved the day and the waitress hadn't been so lovely it would probably have been 3 stars.

The hotel is comfortable, safe and relaxing. The bedroom was spacious with 2 comfortable twin beds, nice bedside tables, a large wardrobe, stand for suitcase and stool with shelf above. The large window opened easily to allow for ventilation. The ensuite bathroom was nicely tiled and had a bath with shower above, sink, radiator and extractor fan as well as a toilet. There was a light above the mirror above the sink. The breakfast was lovely as were both evening meals we had. The waitress was chirpy, amusing and helpful as well as very hard working. The lady owner was chatty, funny and helpful. All the covid 19 changes were sensible and well enforced with good humour and minimal disruption to our enjoyment. We will come again. Askrigg itself is charming.
