Really nice, and unexpectedly quite grand on the inside, pub. Popped in for a pint after a walk up to the waterfall and back, ended up spending three hours relaxing in there and munching on a portion of their delicious, twice cooked chips with our beers.
Discovered a really tasty, new to us lager b
Fantastic pub with a great atmosphere. Staff were so lovely and chatty which is refreshing. Great gin, big portions (fish and chips were amazing). Looking forward to my next visit!
Fantastic atmosphere and beautiful old building with brilliant services, especially one of the staff called Rachel she tried her best to communicate with me as i am deaf. The food was amazing. Will defo go again. 5 stars definitely earned.
A while ago I thought the portions had shrunk, but not now. I had the pork loin which was probably the best meal I've had recently. Staff very friendly and a great pub.
Great Dales pub. Good range of locally brewed ales. We didn't stay here, so I can't comment on the accommodation, but we had an evening meal here which was excellent.
A beautiful historic pub with a fantastic Sunday roast lunch menu. Cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, nice wood fireplace. Worth a visit, especially if you are a fan of James Herriot (All creatures great and small).
Nice meal, steak pie, generous portions.
It would be nice to see a pointers/references in this pub as to where All Creatures Great and Small was filmed as this was the original pub used in the TV show.
Beer excellent. (Askrigg Ale) The bar is really homely. A three beer option available. Food looked good, but we did not indulge. A good stop for walkers and cyclists.
Just called in for drinks, great bar, lovely fireplace which is just what you need after a wet walk! Local beers. Friendly staff.
Will call again as food looked great.
Great selection of local ales, highly recommend askrigg ale a great tasty bitter. Staff were lovely and the menu looks interesting.
