Review Allium At Askham Hall - Askham

We had a lovely relaxing two nights in the Stable Room which is ideal for wheelchair users with plenty of space in the bedroom and adapted bathroom. Askham Hall is a beautiful hotel and quite unique. All the staff were very welcoming and helpful and it's a great place to unwind. Special thanks to Jen for arranging our stay and Alice for a lovely introduction to the Hall.

A really special and beautiful place to stay, set in a very cute village with stunning natural surroundings! The staff were beyond welcoming, helpful and kind from the moment we walked in. They made us feel so comfortable and took very good care of our dog too. The dinner we had in Allium was incredible- by far the best Michelin meal we've ever tasted! It was also lovely that you can dress more casually so it really puts you at ease. Dog friendly 😁

Had the most amazing stay this weekend. Room was outstanding, staff so friendly bar well stocked. The pool was lovely for a morning dip and really enjoyed the spa and sauna. Breakfast was really value for money and you could taste how fresh the food was. We also went to queens head for dinner and this was some of the best food I’ve eaten at. Can’t speak high enough of the hall

Really great country house hotel. It feels like you are a house guest rather than a customer. The food is amazing. A great place for a special occasion.

Really enjoyed our stay, use of the pool and hot tub and roaming the grounds to see all the produce grown on site. Breakfast fab and 6 course tasting menu delicious! Mini bar in the room really reasonable and loved the honesty bar concept!

A beautifully located venue nestled next to the river and village, surrounded by trees and fields. Venue features accommodation, barn and gardens with a coffee bar, wood fired pizza oven, bar, kitchen and large dining space. Plenty of parking also makes this an ideal place to host special occasions.

I went there for a cousins wedding, a great looking place, welcoming and friendly staff, and had a great day. Plenty of parking.

I had my birthday party with friends in the restaurant. The sommelier really looked after us with three 50 year old vintage wines which my partner organised for me. (Champagne, white and red). I know sometimes it is difficult to organise a dinner with our own wine, but since they accepted and welcomed us, I was so relieved. The sommelier was the last piece to make my party perfect. Thank you.

This review is for Allium the restaurant at Askham Hall. Thought the tasting menu offered good variety and decent choices but perhaps could have been a bit more exciting and innovative for what had. Everything was tasty just needed an edge. We were very fortunate to be in the private dining room and the staff and service were excellent and welcoming. The grounds are very pleasant and we had a lovely wander around. Worth coming to if you are in the area.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. The room, building and grounds are amazing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The extensive vegetable gardens are fabulous and the gardeners really helpful when we had questions on some of the items in the garden. It's fantastic to find out about the history of the hall whilst relaxing in the lounge areas. So many things to look at. We enjoyed the well stocked honesty bar and the outdoor pool (despite the weather).

Superb location and delightful food. We really enjoyed the tasting menu. The vegetarian option was also very good. Great wines and port recommendations from the establishment’s sommelier.

Definitely an experience, of a historic, traditional hall. Dinner and breakfast were fabulous!! Local attraction, Lowther Castle & Gardens, is right around the corner. Do not miss!

If only I'd seen the ghost of the Earl. I would give this place 6 stars if that was possible What a wonderful place. We stayed in the old dressing room. We even had our own secret staircase to the honestly bar. Despite it being cold outside the old hall was warm and immaculately clean. As for the meal, there is a reason it has its michelin star. The waiters were wonderful and explained how everything had been prepared and where it had been grown or sourced , most locally or from their garden What a wonderful meal. We had the matching wine. Again the wine waiter was knowledgeable and explained every detail of the wine and was able to answer all questions. We wish him well with his continued studies. Breakfast was also wonderful. Local produce and I've never seen eggs with such yellow fresh yokes Thanks

Drove for an hour in the dark through 20m fog down single track roads to get here... .. and I'd gladly do it again! The dinner was amazing, as is the hall that the restaurant is in. Spent 4 hours eating that night and what an experience it was!

Attended a beautiful wedding here. Beautiful venue, fantastic food and a very well organised event

Attended an all day wedding here and it was very lovely. We were well looked after and the food was brilliant. Only minor downside was lack of signposting around the buildings (we used 3) The weather was freezing while we were trying to find where to go.

We have just returned from a stay at this hotel and found it to be extremely relaxing. Our room was huge with an amazing bathroom and the food at all three restaurants within this group, was excellent. The staff were really helpful and the lounges with roaring fires were very welcome after long walks with the dog. We would return in a heartbeat.

We have just celebrated our daughters wedding at Askham Hall and I can honestly say we had the best weekend possible . From beginning to end everything was perfect, the wedding barn was so beautiful. The food was amazing the rooms were all so individual.perfect. Some staff in particular stood out Josh the bar man Steph in the barn Emma and Becca .. The entire staff from management to waiting staff too class .. Thank you so much Debbie Edinburgh
