Just had a great lunch stop with the family. The heat today was ridiculous but the outside seating was well placed to provide good shade from the trees as well umbrellas at tables on the patio.
The staff in that heat could be forgiven for being a bit grumpy but despite what they must have felt they were all calm under pressure and with a smile - good effort.
A New Forest gem not to be missed by families with children of all ages.
Love the New Forest, such a pretty Fullers pub in a great location. Every dish on the menu sounds delicious, and I find the staff are always truly welcoming. Looking forward to coming down and sitting out in the garden with a wine when Summer arrives. Would recommend to anyone for dinner with family, but also perfect for a cosy date night
The food was amazing.
The chef was very amicable for my son's dairy free diet. Couldn't do enough for us.
Would definitely recommend this to friends.
Lovely play area too
A beautiful place to visit. Wild horses and cows roaming around freely. Beautiful surroundings. Loads of pretty walks with quaint pubs and lovely little shops. So much to do and so much history there. It's a must for anyone who loves the countryside.
Celebrated my Moms 60th birthday and I could rate this venue higher 10*. Everything was perfect, a great place for families to enjiy and relax, a wonderful team and the food was absolutely beautiful. Thank you for helping make our celebration so special. :)
13 of us just had Sunday lunch at this pub. Fantastic food and service, especially our waiter (can't remember his name, but he's Irish). We keep coming back to this fantastic pub.
Enjoyed our day out at Salisbury Cathedral and drive through the New Forest stopping a couple of times. Last stop for a long late lunch in a beautiful garden at the pub with super food 😀 Well worth a visit and will go back for sure to see a bit more 👍😀
We came down in 2013. And 2014.we stayed in brockenhurst and drove past but had to go in . And
I thought it was the best pub I'd ever been to.
Just a beautiful pub with very helpful people. And the food was delicious.
Next time im down , there's only one pub im going to .
We just visited kids activity on the area and got hungry by the evening. It was Sunday.
I literally booked us in while sitting on the bench on playground.
Pub is cosy and friendly atmosphere.
As it was Sunday I ordered Sunday Roast - absolutely amazing. Loved absolutely everything I had on the plate and it filled me up nicely.
My son is fussy eater so he asked for portion of crispy chips plus chatted up the waitress.
I would definitely go in again for another Sunday roast or other meal.
My son have not managed to eat all and they nicely wrapped it for us to take home.
Great pub in the edge of the New Forest in Ashurst.
Great food and service and well worth the wait for the grub.
First rate and tasted beautiful and the Pork crackerling was super duper...
Beautiful pub with lovely beer garden, which would be great on a sunny day. Friendly staff and great service. We had Sunday roast, enjoyed it!
Brilliant service with a warm friendly welcome. Food served quickly and deliciously hot, allergies noted and no problem. It’s a large pub/restaurant with plenty of parking and a good menu choice. We had Scampi and triple cooked chips, very good sized portion reasonably priced. We will visit again when in the area. Thank you
This was my second visit to the New Forest.
This time for a wedding. The atmosphere was second to none, the food excellent and the staff friendly and attentive. I found it so enjoyable that I will be returning in December with some friends for our Christmas celebration.
We had starters and burgers for four here, friendly staff, safe atmosphere, we ate in the garden area which was well laid out.
Food was excellent for a pub-style relatively affordable meal.
Cost was about £100 for four including starter, main, drinks and desserts
One star off as the ordering app wasn't working (for anyone) which caused stress for the wait staff and an excessive delay for customers, not the pubs or the staffs fault but this is part of the fullers chain so should be able to keep this working.
Great food, super dog friendly, great service 👍🏻
Enjoyed a vegan lunch on a lovely sunny day! I had the burger and my mum had a veggie lasagne. The beer garden is lovely and we'll certainly be back! Beautiful walks close by. Easy payment method on the app where you order too. Everything about the visit was enjoyable and easy. Staff friendly too.
Pub has a huge garden which is lovely in the summer. A massive cosy interior in the winter. Food is pricey but I feel brilliant value as the quality is great. Service is outstanding. Sunday lunch is the best around. Miles of forest to explore behind and build up an appetite. Really enjoyed some of the events put on recently I look forward to some more
Very nice welcoming place. The three roast was amazing. Lovely helpful staff. Thank you ☺️ I really recommend this place if you are visiting the new forest.
Great location in the middle of the New Forest, this local pub is very spacious with a beautiful outdoor terrace. Authentic British pub experience with nice craft beers available!
Lovely pub and great food. It is a bit pricey, but for the food you get it is definitely worth it. I'm a always get a pudding type of gal, but the Sunday roast I ordered was so huge and delicious that dessert was a no.
The only reason I have given it four star is due to the service. Now all the servers and great and really polite, but it seems a bit disorganised. It took us ages to be seated and the place was very quiet. Food for our table came out at different times and we had about 4/5 different people serve our table.
Don't let that put you off though, because it was still a fantastic visit. Will definitely be coming again and next time I'll probably bring the dogs!
Visited Ashurst to take a day hike in the nearby woodland of New Forest. The route I planned was around 18km of which just the 3-4 were on an existing track. The rest was completely off track and I was rewarded with a "shower of nature". Streams, wild horses, mud, bog, low vegetation, deer etc. The pub visit for a pint was the cherry on top. Great pub, friendly staff, and a well deserved IPA after a great day. Would happily go back to explore further.
Continuously hunting for that perfect nut roast, this place easily claims the crown! Our regular Sunday routine: a forest walk and then touchdown here. The food quality never falters, and those garden views? Simply unbeatable*
(*in this area 😂)
Need a drink or feed before you catch the rail, this pub should do the trick! Its significantly large in scale with lots of tables in different environments from being near a fire place, to a more spacious indoor setting with a view of the forest, or if you're interested, the large spacious outdoor seating is just amazing on those sunny and less colder days. The staff were very polite and accommodating. The food was great, good decent portions and decent prices too. Would come again!
