Called ahead to book a table for three with an hour's notice and we were accommodated. Service was exemplary, staff welcoming and attentive, special mention for Annetta. Whenever we stay in Manchester we always make a special trip out of the city to visit The Sheldon Arms.
Went way back in early June for roast carvery with my brother & our friend tried the mixed grill.
Was really nice & value for money, definitely gonna go back at end month when they completed there refurbishment & try out more there food.
I can definitely recommend the breakfast!! Food was delicious, fresh, plenty of it! Staff friendly, helpful, and offered vegetarian alternatives. Just great.

Most of the attendees had the carvery which was well worth the price.

Many was full up just for the carvery but a few could not resist the chocolate brownie with ice

We were a large party, 15 or so, after a funeral, on a Tuesday lunchtime, so not the busiest time, but there were enough people so it didn't feel empty. Why oh why did I have to find the best place in Tameside for a breakfast the day before I start a diet?
The breakfast was amazing, eggs made to order, the food was tasty and not greasy. The sausages are not Asda own brand either. When I’ve lost 5 stone I’ll definitely be back (in moderation)

The staff was polite and friendly they reserved a nice quiet area away from the busy restaurant area. Really tasty carvery reasonably priced. Will visit again
There was a slight mix-up, due to the computer ordering system (I think), that meant some of our Mains came out before any Starters. They were quickly taken back again.
The portions were a good size, and the food hot.

Had a lovely buffet breakfast. Food and atmosphere was good. A big shout out for Nikki and Shana very helpful and nothing too much trouble. We wasn’t rushed allowed to enjoy our food. Will be back 😀
I have been going to The Sheldon Arms for a while, especially for a Sunday roast. They never let you down: very friendly staff (a special mention to Shannon) even when the place gets really (!) busy. Food is really good and portions are very generous. We really like it, as simple as that!
