I really can't speak highly enough about this place. The food is absolutely incredible; the quality of ingredients is very high and the prices are extremely reasonable. I usually get a wrap which includes three sides; the price comes to £4.50 and it's massive. They have a lot of variety on offer, so I really would recommend if you're in the area. I only wish they were perhaps better at marketing themselves so I would have found them earlier - I've walked past thousands of times over the last decade and only just found out them a couple of weeks ago!

Working in Ashton Under Lyne can be somewhat depressing at lunch time and I can regularly be found at the butty counter of Marks and Spencer or Sainsburys. That was until I discovered this little gem on Warrington Street. Moroccan and Lebanese cuisine served up by AJ with a smile this place gets really busy but you can call ahead and order. I always have the same... lemon chilli chicken and halloumi on a houmous spread wrap with a side of feta and couscous. An absolute bargain at £3.60 and beautifully spiced.

For far too long my home town of Ashton under Lyne has been short of an eatery which offers an interesting alternative to the usual British lunchtime food. Then I was lucky enough to be recommended a new café in town called Mozaic, it's an authentic Moroccan establishment with all the food freshly prepared onsite. From my first visit I was instantly welcomed by the owner who is only too happy to let you try any of the exotic looking dishes on offer before you buy. You can certainly tell they are passionate about the food here.... you can taste it in every mouth full. They really know they're stuff and can reassuringly explain the ingredients of their dishes, offer serving suggestions or if you are hungry enough can give you a little taste of everything if you wish. You can take away or eat in, there are only five or six tables if you do choose to eat in so it's rather cosy; however this adds to the charm of the place. The falafel is the best I have ever tasted and if you want something filling and tasty on the go then I would suggest one of their flat bread wraps, which with any 2 side salads for about £3 - is about as excellent value for money as you can get for fresh food. There is a large selection of cold salads as well as hot dishes including vegetarian options, all the dishes I have tried so far I have enjoyed tremendously. Normally this is the kind of place that would outshine most similar establishments in Didsbury, Chorlton and the like which why it's even more exciting that we have something to sparkle on this side of the M60. For those of you who think that excellent cultural culinary delights finish at the End of Wilbraham Road, I implore you to make a visit Mozaic.

Café Mozaic co-proprietor Esther B. kindly answered our questions on Moroccan and Lebanese food on this Talk thread http://www.yelp.co.uk/topic/manchester-q-and-a-on-moroccan-food-with-cafe-mozaic I visited Café Mozaic for lunch today to find Esther's Moroccan husband Abdeljalil (AJ) holding the fort along with four other friendly staff. They were serving a lot of takeaways, but I chose to eat in - they have about twenty covers with plenty of free seating when I visited, and a warm, Mediterranean vibe about the place. Hot vegetarian options were falafel, a spicy potato dish, and three rice dishes - plain, saffron or cashew-vermicelli rice. All sixteen mezze in the display fridge are vegetarian. I decided on a wrap, which AJ warmed then spread with hummus and chilli sauce before asking me to make my mezze choices. I was really greedy - falafel, spicy potato, beetroot, green bean w/walnut, spicy green bean, feta, mint yoghurt dressing and so on. AJ's technique was to crumble and spread everything evenly along the wrap, which was folded and returned to the heat press, before being served with sides of tabbouleh, spicy carrot and a delicious dressing. Although their khobz flatbread is from a packet rather than made on the premises, I found it really wholesome and will be seeking out a packet of these wraps myself from Worldwide Foods in Rusholme. As you can imagine, the wrap was a complete riot of fresh flavours with all those fillings, and great value too at just £4.50 to sit in. I would be interested to see what other Moroccan-inspired hot vegetarian dishes Café Mozaic could come up with - maybe a vegetable tagine using chickpeas for the protein. In any event, I'm delighted to have discovered this ethnic treat to pop into when I'm in Ashton, which I found to be quite an upbeat locale. Look out for my forthcoming "Ashton-under-Lyne - a vegetarian explores" list!

Delicious food, can cater for GF but probably not if you can't handle CC. All the sides are lovely, spicy spuds nearly took my head off. Lovely little place.

This takeaway/restaurant is conveniently located in the centre of Ashton town. I went for a lunch here today. The staff are super friendly and easygoing. The restaurant looked clean, tidy, and very spacious. The tables were laid out nicely leaving lots of space between each other. The menu offered a good range of Lebanese dishes. I tried the mixed kebab with rice which comes with three different types of fluffy rice with the option of some salads to choose from. Thats all in for around £7. Other than the portions being a bit on the small side, I cant really fault the place. It decent authentic Lebanese food. The overall service from start to finish was excellent. This one I can and I will recommend you give a try. Opinions expressed are solely my own

Wow ... yes, wow, I've been there for the first time, and the food was super delicious. I never had such amazing food before I do diet so I asked him not to put potatoes and rice, so he gave me more choices for salad. Which is very kind, would love to come here again and I did recommend to many people just delicious 😋

Best place for food for miles around. I wish it was in every town because it’s all I’d eat. Portion sizes are great, prices remain the same, not as cheap as a McDonald’s meal but you pay for what you get; great quality food, great taste, great service. I haven’t got a single thing bad to say about this place I’ve been coming for years.

The one star reviews for this place seem fraudulent to be honest. I’ve been about 20 plus times and the food every single time is spot on. Anyone saying small portions is greedy as the wrap and sides would fill anyone. Lovely, flavoured, fresh tasting food and fairly priced too. My kids wolf it down too. The owner has put his heart into the place clearly as the food is probably the best in Ashton.

I've not visited Ashton town centre in over 6 months but whilst there today I called in to get my lunch. I can't believe that I had forgot just how good the food is from here. The prices have increased since my last visit but in fairness for the quality of food you receive in comparison to other takeaways, there will be no complaints from me about the price increase. The price is competitive with the other takeaways but the quality of the food and the ingredients is superior. I would love seeing this place open serving this food until 10pm because it would do well. There are very few places locally that give this quality of food and the service is very good. Since the Covid situation, I suspect that this would have had a huge impact on the business in terms of loss of revenue due to them not being allowed to operate as a Cafe. There is one simple rule for people to follow and that is use it or lose it. The food is always freshly made and is the best quality. The flavours and choices are excellent and in my opinion it is still one of the best eating experiences you will have from the Tameside area. If you have not eaten here before TRY IT OUT AS THE FOOD IS DELICIOUS and you will not be disappointed! EAT LOCALLY...SUPPORT MOZAIC and you will be served superb food!

This is a great family business which deserves love and respect! These guys did the food at our wedding for 115 people a week ago, and they were awesome! Lots of guests said it was the best wedding food they'd ever had, and my wife and I agree! It was delicious, generous and amazing value. This cafe is a reason on its own to go to Ashton. If you want actual good catering that's not boring, but is reliable, choose these guys! Thank you AJ, your staff and your family!

Absolutely amazing food - Moziac provided the catering for our wedding and we couldn’t have asked for more. The food was incredible (and plentiful!) and the team were helpful and made the whole thing run like clockwork. Everyone was saying how great the food was - they did an amazing job, thank you!

Mozaic serves authentic, delicious and generously portioned Moroccan food. So nice in fact that it has become an office ritual to go every Wednesday. A small shop down an alley in Ashton it is for most a hidden gem and one of the nicest food in Ashton. It does get packed full at lunchtime but you can dodge the queue by ringing up in advance, be warned though that sometimes the orders aren't exactly right when you do this. All in all the food is fantastic portions are very generous for what you pay and it's done in front of you fresh from the deli. The only other issue is it's hygiene rating on the government website is at a 3, I wouldn't look too much into it as in appearance they do clean up after every meal prepared thoroughly enough. It's perhaps their cleaning logs that are not maintained.

The food is fantastic! All of it! That's the only Problem here, deciding what to have! The staff are great & you can even sit in & eat, although I normally go for the take out option. Tired of greazy spoons, Gregg's pasties & lackluster sandwiches? This is definitely the place for you!!!
