We had a great meal here, the service was really quick and they could not have been friendlier.
I had the battered halloumi which was amazing!
The pie was a real pie not a bowl of stew with a pastry top and the gravy came in its own little jug.
We also bought beer to take away and it was much cheap than we had seen in local tourist shops.
There is parking behind or up the street opposite.
Me and my wife stayed here for a few days while visiting family nearby. It's a lovely pub in a small village of Ashover. It does a good breakfast and good food, which I think is served throughout the day. We shall be staying here again when visiting and will take our walking boots, as it's right in the Peak district.
Great pub in a lovely village. Food was so good at lunch we went back for dinner that evening.
Popped in for a drink sat in the garden at back with a beautiful view, decided to have food, was not disappointed it was delicious, would definitely recommend
Nice little gem of a pub in the countryside, recommend the steak and ale pie and great selection of beers
Had a really nice meal here. Staff were really friendly and food was good. Haven't been here for many years and was pleasantly surprised by how much the pub had improved since our previous visit. Will be returning.
Really good traditional pub, well worth a visit. The accommodation rooms are quite basic but functional. The bar is fairly well stocked (particularly if you like cask ales) and the staff are very helpful. Music is background, or was on our visit anyway, and there are no machines or other 'entertainments' didn't even see a dartboard. Fairly food led and dogs and walkers are welcome. Talking of the food, all home cooked and although the menu is not extensive, caters for most. Particularly veggies and vegans are offered a decent range of choice whereas those of us who are carnivorous have a more restrictive choice, I believe this is more to do with the cost of living 'crisis' and trying to keep things affordable rather than an actual bias. I believe they have a quiz night on Tuesday but can't be 100% sure as we weren't there on the Tuesday (check before arrival if that's your thing).
A gorgeous, old building in a wonderful location, a great atmosphere and delicious food and drinks.
Good pub with nice beers, the food is good too.
We called in two weeks ago for Sunday roast and have had midweek lunches there. Lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and we could take our two poodles.

Lovely pub, lovely staff and lovely atmosphere (oh and always a nice pint 😬)
Great Pub with good atmosphere. Staff really nice and we had food, which was lovely and reasonably priced. Was very busy so bit of a wait, but was handled well and had given us a discount without is asking for having to wait a little longer. Not that I minded as its Titanic brewery and there beers are great, especially the plum porter which here was heavenly.

Love this pub, great staff, very friendly and welcoming. Wonderful chef, and food is very reasonably priced.
They host events with live music, and the selection of real ales and ciders is extensive. Very happy to recommend our favourite local
Good old pub friendly staff, good beer and food and great music. Oh, by the way they love dogs
Called in for a bite to eat, sat outside in the sunshine with nice views of the rolling hills. We decided on the hot roast sandwich, we had the pork loin, it came beautifully presented on a slate along with a few roast potatoes a yorkshire pud and a roast carrot and a jug of gravy, it was delicious. Might try the bar snacks next time which also look tasty.
