Great family pub where the staff are friendly and welcoming. Very reasonably priced and a great selection of freshly cooked food. Free to use pool table, table tennis and dart board so will keep family and friends occupied for hours. Happy hour between 16:30 till 6pm.
Sunday roast to die for! Very reasonably priced, and tasted amazing. Pub dog was very friendly. Lovely atmosphere
Wonderful hospitality, delicious pork belly, and cold pints are more than enough on their own. But, throw in the sweetest pub dog of all time and a cozy fire place and this is what country pub dreams are made of. Excellent service throughout and highly recommended!
Honestly the best Pimms I've ever had, I don't know how they made it so much better than other places but they did! Lovely location, plenty of outdoor seating and vegetarian food options available. Staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent. Within easy walking distance of Dunn street
Lovely little country pub. Great food, good beer selection, free pool and table tennis, great outside area, staff are friendly as you like. Also the pub dog is awesome. Dog friendly as well. Great value ad well. £85 for dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids, plus several rounds of drinks (for the adults).
New ownership from Nov 2017.....definitely better than the previous one... Nicer, very reasonably priced menu. Nicely decorated, lovely pub dog - Beatrice! Food good value, nicely presented, side salad and good portion. A little slow coming out but not a bi deal really. Looking forward to our next v
Regular visitor. Love this place, particularly love the mussels, seabass and rather unusual scotch eggs... delicious! The set course during the week is great value too.
This lovely pub re-opened on Friday, now under new management. Fabulous, cozy place, well refurbished. Serving a nice ale (just one at the moment), and usual lagers. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. There is also a fine dining room. Will definitely recommend!
What a great evening at this lovely country pub. Food was great with an apple and raspberry crumble to die for and all washed down with an excellent traditional pint of ale. We were looked after really well !!
Food was great. But someone kept slamming a door which was painful. Also weirdly one song plays every 5-10 minutes, then just silence..... Interesting! But the food was great, the service was good. I put the randomness down to it being a Wednesday afternoon during a global pandemic. Would definit
Five of us recently had an evening meal at the Wheel. As soon as we arrived we felt welcome, there was a lovely, cosy warm atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and thought the prices very reasonable. It would be nice to see some game on the menu. Beer was excellent and we look forward to retur
My husband and I have now tried everything on the menu and nothing has disappointed. Friendly and accommodating staff (gluten/lactose free was not a problem), brilliant ambience with some great theme nights and dog-friendly too. Highly recommended 👍👍👍👍👍
I dont visit many Country pubs as there boring and not busy Proper!! But the Wheel is a proper pub, spacious but cosy in places. Good parking, great sized outdoor area and most of all friendly staff with good food. Worth a visit:)
Great home cooked food. You may need to wait a while if there's a few of you but the wait is worth it. There could be more vegan options though as sparse on those. Very good atmosphere.
Really lovely pub. Friendly, honest tasty and reasonably priced food. We had lunch with our noisy 5 year old and our dog. We felt welcome and comfortable.
Upmarket, just short of designer, classy patrons, great food.
Four of us are here on a Friday Italian night. Good food, friendly service, happy punters and an excellent selection of local beers. Perfect for hungry campers!
