We celebrated my birthday on Sat 6th May. Served by the lovely Sam - who was very understanding & helpful on the gluten free options as my husband is coeliac. We had a lovely meal - service was excellent. Have been several times now to The Woolpack & can rely on gluten free meals without any worries. Certainly recommend.

Our waitress called Karen was really friendly and chatty which is very important in customer care. Our food was very hot and very tasty - Beef Wellington We came down from Oxford and the woolpack is much nicer and service much quicker the the longwall!

Very nice layout inside and decor. Staff very friendly and great service. Good atmosphere. Had the roast sharer platter. Great value and £3.50 for refillable soft drink. Unfortunately the veg in the roast wasn’t great, hard boiled carrots, more stalks than broccoli. Roast potatoes were nice if a little dry. Peas felt boiled out of a bag. Gravy was very oily and lacked flavour. Chicken was amazing! As well as the cauliflower cheese is always lovely. We asked for beef Pink and it was very raw so will ask for it done more next time. Overall nice lunch but will stick to the other beefeaters.

I was served today by a young lady called Alex, who is very polite and hard-working. The service was impeccable. Alex showed maturity beyond her years, which is very impressive. Nice place, relaxed atmosphere with great customer service. The staff keep offering me a seat closer to their vacuum cleaner & I keep offering to do the cleaning instead of paying. Luckily, they appreciate my sense of humour.

Nice little cosy looking pub/restaurant on the A20 with a premiere inn next to it if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area. We are local and have Come to the woolpack many times with no issues. Unfortunately on this visit there were issues. We ordered the steak surf and turf combi. Priced at £23.99 so fairly expensive. The service did seem to be slower than usual, but when we entered it did seem to be more busy than usual. When our mains came the first impressions were very disappointing. Portions were far from generous, presentation was of a low standard and calamari over cooked. It was far from the price that was being asked. There is a picture attached. I asked to speak to a manager. Laura arrived promptly. I simply asked if she would pay £23.99 for the meal served to me. Added to this we had waited around 35mins from starter to mains. She agreed that it was not up to their usual standard. She offered to have the meals re done. I appreciate that sometimes we do not get things right but how can you make it better when something goes wrong. Laura dealt with the situation very professionally and promptly and the whole team worked together to get it right. Although I put 3 stars for food the replacement was 5 but the portions were still a little low. I could not fault all their efforts, this experience would not deter me from coming back and I would still reccomend. Keep up the hard work and thank you.

We just had an early father's day dinner here. I'm a bit awkward with my food due to stomach issues. So I asked if I could have the flatbread instead of a bun on my build a burger. So I ended up with a chicken breast and halloumi in flatbread and it was delicious. (You need this on your menu😊) Also my partner wanted cheesecake but doesn't like honeycomb. So Phoebe our waitress suggested KitKat crumble and chocolate sauce on it instead. Also a winner!! She was amazing. Very accommodating and friendly. We had a great evening. Thank you sooo much to everyone working there for making it so lovely 🤗

Friendly and helpful staff here. A good selection of food available for all tastes from a comprehensive menu. Nice range of drinks too, again appealing to all. Service was not rushed. Food arrived nicely presented. Lots of parking with a ramp for disabled access. Top tip: book a table as it is popular both with guests from the hotel and local residents too.

Great place, has more rustic charm than the new beefeater at Eureka. Usually only go when the reward club emails come through as the deals like 40% off are great value. The menu has a wide choice and all pretty tasty.

Midweek, afternoon lunch with 2 work colleagues, a fair bit off the beaten track, hence 3* as there was little atmosphere. Had to wait 10 minutes to pay the bill as our waitress was chatting to other dinners, which isn't bad, but we needed to catch a train and didn't have the luxury of time. The food was reasonable, as was the price. £14 for 3 courses, albeit on the smaller side... but it was 14 quid, so I'm not complaining.

Sheila made (all 7 of us) really welcome and took all the orders for breakfast from us, all different, but faultlessly delivered. We've been to other Beefeaters and this was the best breakfast I've had. Everything was cooked just as I like...bacon and hash browns nicely crispy and scrambled eggs soft and delicious! Thank you Sheila, and the chef, for such a positive experience!

Lovely venue. Waitress was superb. Food was very tasty but an hours wait for our main course and a side dish was missing (when the mistake was finally realised by waitress she was excellent and gave me the side dish for free)

Went here for lunch. Lovely atmosphere and great service. Burger was perfectly ok too, nothing to complain about. Could have done with a few more chips though tbh. I wasn't all that pleased with dessert, however, because the waffle had been microwaved and was therefore a bit soft n soggy. All in all though, a great place and very good for a beefeater. I would recommend.

So it has been a few years since we have been to this beefeater and it has improved a lot since we was last here. Food was very nice not rushed and it makes all the difference. Would highly recommend Hothfield Beefeater. Staff have been helpful and nice lots of smiles. Needs a few touch ups on the decorating but very nice place.
