Brilliant Cafe! Great atmosphere and modern decor would happily travel to go here again when I'm in the area. Excellent menu with quality food. Very clean and welcoming, true to it's name as it is indeed friendly. My first visit here and will not be my last very impressed and also affordable great value for money. Service was instant and cannot fault the food would highly recommend. I had the small English breakfast which was just enough as the bread was a large slice very tasty and the presentation was lovely as the hash browns came in love heart shapes. Next time will come back for lunch time menu to try as there was a great selection to choose from, two very satisfied customers happily come back!

A Saturday morning breakfast over Easter. Didn't realise you needed to book but the staff were very accommodating and found us a table for 55 mins until the reservation was ready.
We waited 15 mins to be served food. It was a busy morning.
Food was delicious and very tasty, well presented but small portions for the money. The bread was granary artisan and absolutely lovely so 1 slice under my poached eggs didn't seem enough. The full breakfast was nice. Novus tea bags were amazing, I had Turmeric Citrus flavour.
Would definitely recommend for breakfast, and the menu is extensive for lunches.
Just visited Tissington and no cafe was open . We traveled back into Ashbourne and found Friends Cafe and Tearoom.
The places is really nicely decorated inside. Staff very helpful and friendly.

We came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Lovely atmosphere and friendly service. We had the full English breakfast and the eggs benedict. Both were delicious, beautifully presented and cooked well. Would definately recommend!

Absolutely fabulous food - cakes huge and delicious. Wide choice on menu and specials too. The place is welcoming to dogs, which makes it perfect in our book. Staff great, very attentive and clean tables quickly. We loved it.
We always make at least a couple of visits a week when we’re in Ashbourne. Very good service and excellent food.
Busy and popular place but we were seated quickly and served within a reasonable time. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The breakfast was outstanding. The scrambled egg with smoked salmon on bread was so delicious. All fresh locally sourced food. We had a little cookie which was served with our cappuccino that was so tasty, when we asked if they sold them we were told they do but they were sold out, gutted as they were so tasty.

Staff are very friendly, happy to have a chat too.
We ordered breakfasts and they came promptly and were lovely. One of the best I have had locally.

What a gem. Had Full English Breakfast on our way home after 4 days in Peak District.
The premises were a treat as were the staff and food.
When in the Peak District again I will revisit this Cafe and check out the town of Ashbourne further.

Oh my goodness, thank the heavens above that delicious scones like this exist. I can honestly say Stuart is the best baker in all the land. The scone was so perfect and just completely made my day. If you are on the hunt for the most perfect scone to ever exist, look no further and do yourself a favour and treat yourself to one at FRIENDS!!!
We called in for a spot of lunch,we had very nice egg ,mayo sandwich.
A good portion sandwich to eat , the other meals being served to people looked very good.
We'll be going again next time in Ashbourne.
Just needed a snack and cuppa to keep me going until the evening and Friends came up trumps. A simple couple of Pikelets with a pot of tea all served with a smile. Full menu looked really interesting for anyone wanting a full mean and something different.

Nice cafe just off the market place so convenient for parking if you are with car. Went for breakfast. Popular place. Nearly got up and left because no vegan options. But the server was very nice and I got a super, very nice, large vegan breakfast. Top marks to this place!
Great selection of meals, light bites and cakes. Generous portions sizes and excellent value for money. Friendly service that was attentive but not in your face. Spot on.
Came here for lunch. I had the chicken, prosciutto, mozzarella, sun blushed tomoto sandwich. Food was amazing. Friends had risotto, mushrooms on toast, full English, sausage sandwich. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their food 😍
