Popped in at last minute, having not booked a table. The staff were so lovely and couldn't have done any more to make us feel welcome. The Sunday roast was home cooked, lovely and fresh and very tasty! The mug of tea was just what we needed too! Thanks for a lovely stop off on our journey home. Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
We have enjoyed this place two nights running, lovely atmosphere, lovely staff and great food on both occasions. We were staying at the Carsington water caravan park and would highly reccomend it to anyone staying there or in the area.

What a little gem! The beer was exceptionally well looked after (Timothy Taylor Landlord) and very reasonably priced, which is rare in this day and age. The service was fantastic and very attentive - both in the bar and at our table. The barman, who also took our food order, was so friendly and really added to the overall experience!
The food was excellent quality and, again, great value for money. The pie was out of this world and a huge portion! I would thoroughly recommend The Nags Head, Hulland to anyone looking for a good honest family dinning experience...so much so we’re back again in October!

The new owners had only been in a few weeks when we gave the pub a try. They were super friendly and there was a lovely atmosphere in the pub. Locals and tourists chatting away. We had the chilli burger, which tasted home made and not dry at all and the mixed grill which was a huge plate and all really well cooked. The chips were mega - deffo homemade. Really hope it works out for them, highly recommended.
For the service alone! We were a large family of 12 celebrating my mum's birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed our freshly cooked carvery and the proprietor was incredibly attentive with my special needs nephew. Lovely pub, friendly feeling as other tables were filled with customers not far from our holiday home Billys Bothy and YES I would definatley recommend it.
Our second visit after a day of walking in the Peak District. Again we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious, home made, good quality and very reasonably priced. The service was equally as great.
Highly recommend to all. Toddler and dog friendly.

A lovely character pub. Clean and inviting, with pleasant, polite and helpful staff. We went with another couple, and none of us had been before.
We had a little wait for our food, but, in my experience, that means the food is being freshly prepared and cooked.
We were not disappointed...... all of us enjoyed our meal..... could not fault a thing.
Delicious home cooked food at very reasonable prices.
I really can't fault this place, the manager is very friendly as are his staff. The food was Excellent, I had "Chicken in Stilton & ham sause with chips" the chicken was cooked spot on, the Stilton n Ham sauce tasted just right as not to over power. The chips were absolutely perfect, with nicely done crispy edges and a nice soft (not soggy) inside. Anita had the "Turkey dinner" which consisted of Excellent roast potato (down side there was only one), boiled new potatoes in their skin, stuffing ball, Yorkshire pudding and gravy in a boat, with cauliflower, cabbage, swede squares and carrots. Both meals were plentiful and extremely tasty.
Pudding was no let down either, I had "Cherry Bakewell Sundae and Anita had "Brownies & Cream".
