Just had a party for 12 children in the restaurant. The staff were fantastic, food was very good and completely eaten up. The manager was very efficient from enquiry to booking to having everything well organised on the day. The kitchen staff even got us a lighter for the cake. Nothing too much trouble. Stress free party that was perfect for hungry kayakers. Thank you
We had the 3 course lunch for my mums birthday and it was very good value for £10.95 each. We had a reserved table by the window with lovely views over the stone circle and the water. Very good waitress service and patience shown with our disabled relative and consideration given to a wheelchair user. Many thanks.
The best luxury hot chocolate in a great location. The brownies weren't bad either! Thank-you.

We had cream tea on the decking overlooking the lake. Bit windy & cool, but the cakes were delicious & tea nice & hot. :-)
It's great overall, food is good, value too and enough choice on the menu. Service brilliant!..friendly happy, helpful staff! I had the fullish English breakfast with hot drink for just over £9😎👌!!! The room however is very dated, furniture warn, old sticky wooden tables, wall paper falling off at the edges/corners, really needs a modern facelift to bring it out of the... probably late 80's early 90's. Please make use of the views rather than half covering the windows with film. If you need a designer please contact me. Finally in this day and age, particularly with next to no mobile signal at Carsington, WiFi would be appreciated to which they currently have none. Thanks, will be back soon though!
On a beautiful summer day, it's just a lovely place to visit and walk around, and the distance is 7.5 miles. It took us approximately 4 hours at a steady pace!
Really excellent restaurant/cafe, upstairs in the centre. Exactly hits the spot for what's needed here. Nice calm non-echo ambience, well arranged seating, friendly and efficient staff and a good selection of very well cooked food. Prices also quite reasonable. We had the stuffed oatcake and the soup with scone and a side of great chips. Lemon meringue and egg custard also great, basic British cooking done very well. Congratulations
A really lovely friendly restaurant. The food is simple and good. The Sunday roast was delicious.
The cleanliness could be a little better but what makes the restaurant one I will keep on going back to is the staff. The lady behind the till in particular and the man seeing you to your seats are super friendly and you are made to feel welcome and like nothing is to much. Thankyou to them for their very good service. They make this place
Nice place to stop for lunch after completing the 8 miles circular walk if the reservoir. The restaurant is clean, bright and has wonderful views over the reservoir.
The menu was good with additional daily specials also available. Drinks arrived a while before the food and the tea and coffee were both good, however the hot chocolate was very weak and lacked any real taste.
For lunch we ordered sandwiches and bowls of chips and the quality of the food was good.
On departure we bought some cakes to take home with us and these were all good.
Well worth visiting if your at Carsington Water.
Good place to get out for some fresh air and exercise.
Nice flat walking tracks if you have push or wheelchairs.
It's not the most scenic of walks around the large reservoir, but it has good facilities.
Car Park has refreshment cafes and shops with good clean toilet facilities.
Cycle hire, sailing, canoeing, and paddleboarding activities are also available for the more adventurous.
Easy to follow route (8.2 miles) around the reservoir (follow the red arrowed signposts) was a warm day with a light breeze across the reservoir. I brought a picnic but there are plenty of food/ snack options. Clean tidy toilet facilities.
We booked for Afternoon tea for 4 people and it was beautiful lots of lovely sandwiches cakes and scones with jam and cream. The staff were lovely. It exceeded our expectations in both quality and quantity.
A really pleasant place to go with your family. Great views and safe walking areas. Shops are fairly expensive so take a packed lunch
This is Carsington Reservoir.
It has a visitor centre and cafe.
There is a walking and cycle path around the reservoir with some scenic views.
Fantastic place to go for lunch with a beautiful view. Food was fast and lovely, not pricey at all.
Arrived wet and cold, no problems about us dripping as we entered, very pleasant, prompt service soon warmed us up. Plenty of tea in the pot for two and lots of milk. Great value and made the miserable conditions bearable.
Great place to eat and very reasonable. Lovely views over the lake. Staff are friendly. Outdoor and indoor seating available. Restaurant is on the first floor, but a lift is available. Serves hot and cold meals, cakes, tea and coffee.
