The George & Dragon - Ashbourne - Photo album

Bit of a shock this one! Couldn’t get in to a couple of cafe/ delis on the square, and needed some food. Wasn’t sure about this place but so very glad we chose it. Food was excellent (sharing platter, mushrooms, dirty fries), lovely pint and absolutely superb service. Lady who served us was very att
We stopped in here for lunch and were welcomed from the moment we walked though the door. The staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our whole visit. The food was great and the plates so full we were beat. It's so nice though to get a decent sized meal and feel like you're getting value for
Went for Sunday lunch as had been recommended to try the lamb shank. Oh wow it was amazing great selection of beers and lovely beer garden. Well worth a visit if you're looking for a great lunch
Went for evening meal during a week celebration in Ashbourne for a 50th. Party of 8, they accommodated us really well A well organised pub lovely food excellent service. They went the extra mile with 50th decorations Fantastic thanks and well done.
We randomly visited on our weekend away; this local pub in the center had a nice vast menu with lovely choices. Staff were friendly. Food was quick to be served and recommended. Good value
Was a unexpected experience as I wondered through the first time to have a browse at the menu however there wasn't much people dining but after wondering around town and deciding to give it a try I believe it was a good choice.Roast was amazing especially the portion sizes.I wished they would of put
A great pub with outstanding food. Bar and waiting staff were very friendly. Thanks for having us and understanding our frustrations with the noisy table of customers.
Not too bad for a budget accommodation. Our room wasn't very big but has had everything what we needed. A kettle inside literally made my day. We were very happy with the choice. This is a pub which closes at 10 pm and we have been asked to arrive before this time but they have separate entrance so
Need a little more 'girl food' on menu. Salads etc. Portions very large. Good what we had apart from calzones soggy bottom and over done top. Will keep going though as land lady lovely.
Ate here last night & will definitely be back when we’re in Ashbourne again. Although very busy, staff were polite & friendly, particularly the Landlady. Food was delicious & although quite a long wait due to how busy it was, definitely worth waiting for.
we arrived nearly on 2pm Wednesday after a walk at Tissington trail. the meals ordered were delicious. it had no fresh orange juice to service on the day.
We stopped here for lunch and enjoyed a delicious meal, lovely friendly staff and finished with a very nice coffee
My family and I stopped in this pub on our way home from a weekend away, six of us, and although they were fully booked they rearranged things so they could fit us in, the land lady was very welcoming, catered very well for all of us. The food was really lovely and the clientele were really friendly
Very accommodating, dog friendly, friendly team, great food, large portions, and fantastic beers.
Nice spot for a drink right in the center of town. We didn't eat, but the food looked good.
Beautiful food a great choice, lovely courtyard garden and great service right in town with all amenities.. coming back very soon.
