The Duncombe Arms Pub - Ashbourne - Photo album

We were staying at the Alton Towers hotel and were looking for somewhere nice to eat (outside of the hotel). We had such a fantastic experience here. The service was fabulous & the food absolutely delicious. Not cheap - but worth every penny. If we’re ever in the area again, we will definitely be ba
We chose this pub for my parents diamond wedding anniversary meal. The pub is welcoming and looks amazing, both inside and outside. Food was good as was the service, however the place was full of dead flower arrangements on the tables, it seemed that they put all of the attention into the good food
An interesting and nice pub....trying to be a gastro pub. Food was fine and worth another try. It was a nice experience overall but I feel they need to raise standards. I just feel they lost something of what they used to be. I didn't see the rooms so I will give 5 as I believe it is fair.
Amazing food. Impromptu visit in the way back from Peak Wildlife Park. Best food I have tasted for a long time. Very posh place. Not cheap but worth it for a treat out. Service is fantastic . Fresh local produce used. Highly recommend the bacon jam!
We have just returned from a wonderful stay in the ‘flying ducks’ room! The room is beautiful, bed comfortable and decor stylish, we only wish we had a little longer in there! We went for a meal in the restaurant in the evening, the food was absolutely incredible! Each course was super tasty and th
Gem of a place. Great rooms, two electric car chargers (one dedicated to Tesla), great staff and a first class restaurant. Food and service were excellent, as was the wine list. Only small gripe...breakfast didn't start until 8am. If traveling midweek and departing early, this was a bit disappointi
Fell upon this gem whilst drifting home via some quieter roads. Didn't have a reservation but were offered a choice of tables and menus. Staff were friendly and attentive. A la carte lunchtime menu offered a good choice at sensible prices. Food was excellent. Will return next time we are in the area
We called into this venue without booking in advance and were made to feel very welcome. The pub / restaurant is extremely well decorated and the food is obviously very good ingredients and extremely well cooked. It was extremely tasty. It is also dog friendly. Would highly recommend.
Previously posted on TripAdvisor An absolute gem. Despite not having a reservation for lunch on an obviously very busy day, we were very warmly welcomed and accommodated at a suitable table. The food was worth every penny. Yes, some of the menu may be more expensive than some are used to paying but
Really nice environment to eat in, and the food was very nice. Starters and bread were exceptional, and the lamb was good, but a little bit overdone when asked for pink. One let down was the raspberry souflet.. it was just okay and a bit bland (the tarragon ice-cream saved it to a degree). However m
Exceptionally good hotel rooms and really good food. We stopped off here on our way back home from Scotland and had a really relaxing, fun time. The rooms are (as the photograph hopefully shows) very well presented and comfortable. The attached pub and restaurant are both really nice and the food wh
First rate food and service. Interesting menus catering for folk with special dietary needs. Great choice of drinks at the bar and on wine list.
Absolutely top quality. Dinner and stayed overnight, both excellent. Lovely air conditioned rooms, good shower. Food was excellent, one of the best steaks I've had.
Really nice place, really nice food . If your passing or looking for somewhere different then I’d highly recommend this place . We are in the garden room which was brilliant , it was a nice mix between indoor and outdoor dining . The best but by far was the beef that came on the Sunday dinner, I’m n
