What a great pub, had a lovely pub meal here the other night while on holiday. The staff were really friendly, despite it being busy, everything was under control. Food was great, great prices and the best thing of all was that there was an outdoor play park which had bouncy castles, go karts etc, the kids couldn't believe it when the bar staff said it was all free for them to go on �. Definitely worth a visit but I would book as they just squeezed us in. � X
Me and my husband visit often for meals out, food is always fantastic and customer service is second to none. Today we decided to visit with our children, the outside area is lovely, well maintained and fantastic for families - food again was absolutely fantastic and an amazing price!
My little boy (who is extremely clumsy) managed to knock his plate off the table and he became very upset, one of the gentleman working came running over with no prompting or delay - cheering my son up and offering to replace the meal free of charge for us, despite us offering to pay for another.
I forgot to ask the man for his name, but he was absolutely fantastic and cannot thank him enough for his kind gesture today. Another great meal, exceptional customer service and four customers that will be back real soon.

Great couple of hours spent here, good food and nice to know that we can let our toddler run around without getting judged! Fantastic set up with the bouncy castles, go karts and bar in the marquee. Especially with it being a wet day so we couldn't go outside. Was expecting it too be chilly but lots of heaters. And we managed to have 2 hot meals, a kids hot meal and drinks all for under £30 too!! Will defiantly recommend and visit again :-)
Visited here with some friends whilst on holiday and absolutely loved everything about it. It was comfortable inside, the service was great and the food was incredible. Very reasonably priced for the quality and the portion sizes. Was also a great place for kids. They had a massive tent with inflatables inside! BEST MACORONI CHEESE EVER! The only down point is that the pub isn't where we live! <3
Really great pub! We visited three times over half term and it was always immaculate, with an awesome play area for our kids. The staff were helpful and accomodating and the food was fantastic (breakfast on two occasions and dinner on one) - burger topped with brisket? Yes! We had dinner on what must have been their busiest afternoon and the service was still quick even though they were dealing with an almost full pub and two parties - just brilliant and very happy. We look forward to seeing you next year!
We've been coming here for years. The food never disapoints and the staff are always friendly and professional. We make a point if taking our visitors there during their stay and everyone has enjoyed it.

This pub we found is child friendly. Staff really helpful. Food great. They have a marquee where you can eat and drink and the children can play in a soft play area. It was fantastic

Had a lovely Sunday dinner with the family, some of us had the roast which didn’t disappoint and my son opted for the steak and ale pie which was all meat, even tho they were busy service was quick, staff were friendly. Very good value for money. We will definitely be going back again

Great for anyone with kids as pub has a great outside area with everything the kids could want. Food was amazing and big portions. The Ploughman’s was great. Would come back here again 👌🏻
I've visited the island every year, this was our first visit to The fighting cocks and it was the best meal I've had.
The service was fantastic, a call button was provided on the table to call when you wanted to order, pay or simply have the table cleaned.
Food was delicious.
If I could rate it more than 5*, I would!!

Brilliant food, so much choice. Thanks to Sam and his staff they're doing a fantastic job. even the ploughman's looked like it was wearing sunglasses lol. If youre ever taking a trip to the island abd would like some amazing food make sure you call and book a table. I absolutley love it in here at Christmas as its super pretty and cosy.
Another visit, this time there is a dedicated pizza menu. Great choice on the specials board today and again super friendly staff! Opted for the soup of the day which was delicious 😋
Great tasting veggie roast dinner! Fabulous sticky toffee pudding, too. Excellent service, very friendly and very quick! Family atmosphere was a bit noisy, but we were close to some very well-behaved children and a lovely baby, so not a problem!
Nice food that is well priced. Best pub garden on the whole island, so much space and so much to do for the kids. Always friendly staff.
Lovely roast turkey dinner. No room inside so had the food outside. We'll book next time!
Best lunch on the island, in my opinion. I had peppered chicken it was lovely . The peppercorn sauce was the best I've ever had, came with 3 vegetables. My hubby had gammon, which was lovely chargrilled and a lovely flavour. Highly recommend. The staff on the bar and waiting staff were impressive also . 5 star 🌟 today will be back.

This has been our best meal on the island by far, food was great, we were unable to fault it in any way. The menu is very family friendly, even offers plain pasta for fussy children. The service was great, they use little call buttons on the table and response was very quick. Garden has play facilities for children of all ages. We left very impressed and plan to go back again during our time on the island, it was a tough pick of what to have, as there was more than one thing we really wanted to try, so we're looking forward to trying something else next time!
June 2022 4* Thought we’d give the pub another go. Staff more attentive, came when we pushed the button. Food was still delicious. Our server was Amber who gave us a better experience 4*
May 2022 3* Excellent ploughman’s & hunters chicken, great location and facilities. Although they say it’s table service, to push the buttons on the table and they’ll come over. But every time we pushed the button nobody would come and you could see the staff just chatting at the bar so after waiting for ages (had pushed the button 3 times already) we had to get up and ask for the bill. Then not only that we were chased out the pub by one of the staff members as we were getting into our car asking if we’ve paid. Absolutely ridiculous.
Hands down the best kids beer garden we have ever been to.
Bouncy castle, huge bouncy island thing, pedal powered go karts plus all the usual swings and stuff.
This is a well organised and efficient family eat in pub, just off the main road from Arreton to Apse Heath. The tables have service buttons so no bar queues. Lots of parking including disability spaces. Wide flat entrance and accessible toilets.
Extremely busy so booking advised. Menu caters for vegans and vegetarians. I was told the vegan bolognaise was delicious.
Food well presented and brought hot to table. I would have given 5 stars but salad a bit dry and desserts were provided with knife and forks. I did ask for spoons but they never appeared. Friends were eating custard and ice cream with forks.
Recommend you take spoons with you.
If you enjoy traditional Pub Food, full of flavour and generous portions, you'll love this place. We enjoyed a fantastic family meal here on a busy Sunday Afternoon and the service was spot on. Very friendly staff and portions which even the hungriest would struggle to finish. Definitely visit while you are here.
Stunning steak and a good selection of beers. A great pub well worth a visit. Great big outdoors space and a place to take children due to enclosed play park
Food was very average but that was accepted. I wasn't keen on my chilli, didn't feel very authentic. I was really happy with the children's selections. What we got here though was excellent customer service all staff were friendly, efficient and attuned to hidden disabilities. A pub really invested in family, colouring pack for our little one and brilliant playthings and bouncy castle which kept her so entertained she didn't want to leave. I wouldn't come back for the food but the entertainment and service was top notch for families.
