Amazing! This place is a little treasure set in great location. Fabulous food, definately one of the best seafood we've had in a long time, the other half is a chef of 40yrs and hard to please, no complaints here. Celebrated our 22yrs anniversary, the staff are very welcoming and very attentive. They even brought out handmade chocolate platter with a little message, delicious and lovely surprise. Thank you all so much for the perfect afternoon. After all the tasty food there's a nice walk along the river to work off those calories. Will be back for sure.
Fantastic evening of sisilian wine paired with amazing food. Well worth trying these evenings held on the first Wednesday of every month. Met some lovely people and learned a lot about wine I wouldn’t normally have tried before. Lovely staff in a pretty restaurant surrounded by amazing views. Stayed over and treated to a sumptuous breakfast, scrambled eggs with crab and smoked salmon. Highly recommend! 5*
Wow ...We had heard lots of good things about this hidden gem ...but is more than lived up to its reputation. ..We had pre ordered the Fruit De Mar...and wow it was outstanding ...some of the best seafood we have ever tasted...service was excellent ..Tia was especially friendly professional ..Thank you for a wonderful evening. We will be coming back.
1st visit at lunchtime for a birthday treat. Stunning location, very friendly relaxed service and an outstanding meal. Can't wait to visit again. If you love seafood this place is unbeatable!
Enjoyed a most delicious tasting menu at The Old Passage, Arlingham today, an explosion of interestingly combined flavours. The service was excellent and of course I would have to say fab art work to peruse.....
Beautiful place on the banks of the Severn overlooking Newnham on Severn.
Food is just exquisite
Thoroughly recommend
Great place, great location, fab food and wonderful company!
I remember reading the reviews on Tripadvisor a few years ago and I was almost put off by some of the remarks/comments made about the staff/management and hyperinflated prices. But I thought heck we are going and we can make our own mind up when we got there, and I’m glad I did. I have never looked, 3rd visit and The Old Passage is still going strong. Food, ambience and service has always been brilliant every time we have been be it just the two of us or with friends. If you’re after good food and not afraid to part with your money for a treat then I would say go for it. A well deserved award, keep it up. See you soon.
Another fantastic meal in wonderful setting. This restaurant never disappoints innovative menu and superb service. Perfect.
Wanted to find the Severn river today, walked the canals to find an entrance, we couldn't. jumped in the car and drove down a no name road to a dead end. We found an unmarked or non branded house, walked in met the owner of a restaurant "the old passage" We decided to get a light lunch. This would have to be in the top 3 best meals of my life, discovered after that they hold 2 rosettes and a mention in the Michelin guide. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough, simple stunning flavours, innovative cooking, fresh local seasonal produce.
Stayed in one of the B&B rooms, I cannot praise the service enough, my partner is on PD dialysis overnight and Louise and the team were totally supportive and helpful. His fluids were delivered to site and they moved them into the room. They allowed us to adjust the room to suit his Baxter PD machine and took care of the additional waste.
The breakfasts were delicious, and plenty of options and adapted to fit my partners dietary needs, especially when he felt he couldn't eat.
We had lunch on a couple of days and again these were delicious, and the portions are generous and well worth the money.
The Old passage is right on the River Seven and the room had wonderful views up and down the river and there is easy access to Riverside walks.
5 stars are not enough, this is a wonderful hidden gem, and Louise and the team made our first trip away with his Dialysis equipment very relaxing. Can't wait to go back
Love this place, excellent starting point for walk along the banks of the Severn finished with coffee and best scrambled eggs I've ever had.
Very tasty decaff Americano with a great Severn view. Fire on inside, very cosy. Friendly staff, clean toilet. All around great pitstop on our cycle
Turned up for an early lunch on a cold Saturday in December and received a very warm welcome. We had ham egg & chips and scampi, chips & salad - both delicious, and they did a small portion for our 3yr old. Delicious coffee too. Will definitely be back in warmer weather so we can sit outside.
Plenty of parking.
This pub really is in a beautiful location and very handy if you're walking around the Arlingham horseshoe. We placed our orders before we set off and the food was ready when we finished our walk two hours later. Nothing was to much trouble for Louise and her team even though we arrived back drenched! The food was just what you want after a good walk, particularly the pies. Heart and tasty, nice pint too.
Only stopped for the a quick drink whilst on a short walk along the Severn Way. Picturesque views across the Severn. Didn't want food but it looked good.
Really friendly lovely owners, nothing was too much trouble and the onus was on making their guests feel extremely welcome. You could have a coffee or a 3 course meal, whatever you wanted was served with pleasure with no pressure to have more than a drink if that's all you wanted. Special dietary requirements were no problem at all, they cater for everyone.
Absolutely fantastic afternoon drink and evening meal at this lovely quaint inn. Staff extremely friendly and fantastic service. Excellent home cooked food and great choice. Highly recommended and provide breakfast, lunch and evening meals as well as snacks and cakes throughout the day. Definitely 5 stars from me.
Had the most amazing cream tea! Surpassed expectation. Very attentive staff. A must!
What a great find. We came across this pub during first lockdown and it seized trading which was a great shame as location is fantastic. Since then it changed owners. Food is outstanding, great coffee, fantastic service and giod atmosphere with regular live music events. Great beer garden for the warmer months too. It's a must stop if you walking by the river.
